A few quotes I found worth mentioning: doraithodla.com/blog/2023/12… This is a work in progress. It will grow as I read more during the holiday season.

"Dream big, iterate small". I love that.
Current status: Attending the HubSpot "AI Show and Tell" meeting, which is exactly what it sounds like. One of my favorite meetings. Follows the HubSpot "Dream big, iterate small" philosophy.

AIScripting has to get a lot simpler to get wide spread use to build applications. It is getting better for developers, but look at the tools, libraries, pipelines, concepts they need to learn.

We will have AI systems as smart as humans at some point (may be decades) into the future. We will learn from them and become smarter.
These five minutes are worth more than many hours of AI alarmist talk.

"The founder doing it everyday"
Sam Altman warned us: “Everyone thinks you can hire someone to do this." "That fails 100% of the time." A board of directors won't cut it. The secret to building a generational company, according to him? The founder doing this every day:

This also shows that you have many entrepreneural traits. So why waste them in a job?
If you want to get a job as a software engineer in this market: Build a side project! Solve a problem you have with a little web app, built with a backend framework and language you enjoy, and a frontend framework and language you like. Most importantly, ship it to a URL. Get some customers. React to their feedback over and over again. When applying for jobs, always include the URL of your side project. In a single “word”, you can show a CEO/manager/recruiter that you can: 1. Write code 2. Ship to production 3. Solve customer problems 4. Don’t need to be managed Dream hire!

Good one. A deeper analysis would be great. 1. Pure services vs Products vs Hybrid 2. Small, Medium, Large 3. Emerging Tech vs others
How to value a private company: Annual revenue x 10 x YoY growth = how VCs would value it Annual profit x 5 + assets - debts = how independent appraisers would value it (409a) Annual profit x 10 + assets - debts = how PE would value it Annual profit x 30 = how the public would value it (if the stock were fully liquid)

Of all the products one generated more than 3 million US $ in 1994-95 and two did 500K$ to a million. Rest of them made some money but not enough. Every product taught us something about the market and users. Our products were mostly for developers execept InfoMinder.
Nice to see these lists. Budding entrepreneurs need to see this. I have my list but they are on different time scale and I do not have exact revenue numbers. doraithodla.com/about-2/prod…
