PSA TO THE NBA: NIKOLA JOKIC IS COMING OVER THIS YEAR. PICKED BY THE NUGGETS AT #41 IN 2014, HE WILL DOMINATE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE AND LAUGH.

Smallest of considerations were made for Ngongba — I have always LOVED every prospect with a noteworthy intersection of AST + OReb + high Steals or Blocks, as these are the best "feel" metrics, and correlate heavily with outlier improvements in the NBA. Ngongba will be a PLAYER.

First time making a declaration of any kind on 2026, but figured this tweet is as good an excuse as any to do it: Just being exposed to stats for first time right now on Dec 27 of this class, Top 4 I'd imagine has got to clearly be - 1 - Cam 2 - Darryn 3 - AJ 4 - Caleb

@donyatesnba so give me your top 4 in this year’s draft. Regardless of hype, the 4 that by the end of their careers would be ranked properly.

To give a brief summary of thoughts - I was expecting to be let down by the narratives surrounding the class even though I knew Cam and DP had to be mega star-level just based on what I saw being said and by whom..... and they are.... but omg, AJ and Caleb's profiles are NUTS too

I've seen AJ getting some concerns thrown his way, and I expected to like Caleb or someone else nearly as much, but holy shit, his profile is so nice too. Definitely want that tier break between 2 and 3 though, unless his creation really is on that tippity top elite level.

Never in all my days did I think I'd see Jabari Parker yearning on the TL. Awful passer and defender with bad conditioning who took too much usage with a bad 2P% and a 3P/FT % profile that could've gone either way... there have been a million of this exact style of bust
Injuries really deprived us of this unbelievable talent NBA All-Star potential if he would have stayed healthy

This was a very strong draft IMO. I caught some flack from draft twitter for the Fears love but the kid turned 19 in October, and:
Life is extraordinarily busy. I started a couple pieces this year but always got stuck researching more. Tons of work, but that's the fun part. Writing is a time killer! 1. Flagg - 2. Khaman 3. Harper 4. Kon 5. Veej 6. Fears - 7. Bryant 8. Jase 9. CMB 10. Noa 11. Kasp 12. Demin

What Paolo Banchero Really Said To Tobias Harris👀: Paolo: “You suck, old a** n****” Tobias: “It’s the first half” Paolo: “You can’t guard” Tobias: “You haven’t done sh*t” Paolo: “I’ve been busting your a**” Tobias: “Never, never!”

Edgecombe is so incredibly good and is clearly alone in a tier there, or possibly in the tier with Coop up top. Taking a second look at why I had him as low as #4, it was truly just bad process. You don't find ultra athletic 19yo wings with 19% AST/12% TOV and elite STL%/ORB%.

tier at #2* Coop is over a year and a half younger and was still better than VJ last year, but nobody else even sniffs VJ You guys putting real energy into this had CMB and Noa among others above him? Wtf is wrong with you

Sophomore Otto Porter and Freshman VJ are such eerily similar prospects & within a month of age too. They're the only two prospects since CBB started tracking rate stats to have anywhere near their intersection of particular green flags (the ones mentioned above) So sad re: Otto

77 combined minutes total through regulation between Sengun, Adams and Capela is not quiiiiiiite ideal IMO

13. Tre 14. Sorber 15. Yang 16. Gets dicey here, but Ace, Queen, Coward, Clayton, etc are among some very worthy swings (certainly not Top-5 pick worthy though, ahem...)

SGA is legit, a free throw merchant, but he’s legit. Hali still is not it. A product of injured Boston and Cleveland squad. Inconsistent mfer. 1/2

I bet you think SGA a superstar too. Haliburton will never be a #1 hell even #2 option on a contender. Dude is not a Superstar
