I kept thinking that my problems are no bigger than anyone else’s and wondering what the odds are that you would even see my comment, let alone choose me. But the Bible says, “Ask, and it shall be given unto you.” So here I am, asking, hoping, and praying that somehow, you get to read my story. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been responsible for myself and my younger siblings. Without parental support, I’ve had to figure life out on my own while trying to make sure my siblings have a chance at a better future. It hasn’t been easy, but God has been faithful. I’ve spent years working in Web3 while running my cooking business and juggling other remote jobs to keep things together. I’ve pushed myself to the point of surviving on just 2–4 hours of sleep a day because there is always something that needs to be done and someone depending on me. Yet, despite all the hard work, I still struggle to afford some of the things my family needs. I would love to be one of the four winners because this money would mean so much more to me than receiving money. It would take a huge weight off my shoulders and give my siblings and me a fighting chance at a better life. It would help me pay my brother’s school fees for a few terms and give him the opportunity to focus on his education without me constantly worrying about how to afford it. My younger sister has been at home since she finished school because I cannot currently afford to put both her and my brother through school . I paid money for her to learn skills, she has learned wig making and installation, catering, and makeup. With part of this money, I would love to help her start something of her own, however small, so she can earn an income, become independent, and begin building a future for herself. Another thing weighing heavily on me is my living situation. I currently live in a terrible house where we go months without electricity and access to clean water. Parts of the building are sinking, and the rooms get flooded by water from the canal. As someone who cooks and sells food, I spend thousands of naira every week buying water just to cook and carry out basic household chores. I haven’t had peace in a long time. I struggle to charge my devices comfortably, I’ve lost deals because of my living conditions, and somewhere along the way, I feel like I’ve lost a part of myself. I’m trying so hard not to let my circumstances consume me or steal my joy, but some days are harder than others. My rent expires in a month, and I’m honestly worried about what comes next. This money would help me secure a new place and, hopefully, finally afford a bigger space where my siblings and I can live together under the same roof. That has been one of my biggest dreams for a long time. I want to be able to bring my siblings closer, have a home where we can support one another, and give them the comfort and stability we have gone without for so long. I want us to have a place where we can rest, feel safe, and work towards a better future together. After spending so many years trying to hold everything together, being able to make this happen would mean more to me than I can explain. I know there are so many deserving people in these comments, and I’m not saying my problems are greater than theirs. I know everyone is fighting battles that others may never understand. But I truly hope that, this time, I get to experience a breakthrough too. I pray that this becomes one of those moments when God reminds me yet again that He hasn’t forgotten about me, and that all the years of working, sacrificing, and trying my best have not been in vain.
