I knew damned well Flanagan would knock "Carrie" out of the park. I'm half an hour in and it's great.

Drops in 2 weeks! facebook.com/waynefenlon/pos…

If you have any appreciation for Anthony Bourdain as a writer, traveler, chef, or TV personality, check out the film TONY. And I'm telling you, @antoniobanderas gives a master class in acting.

Couldn't ask for a better TOC to be included in!

Thanks to @joelansdale and Little, Brown & Co. for the ARC of Petrified Dreams. A ripping good story with exactly the right amount of background, action, thrills, and humor. I hate to see the fellas retire, but I understand, trust me. (Nice to see Joe Bob show up, too).

The Modern Library put Joyce's Ulysses in the top spot of their Best Novels list. I've been reading it for 25+ years and I'm on page 238. I get the feeling it's #1 because most of the board didn't read it but have always been told it's the greatest--like I have. It's not.

In Nashville, real autumn doesn't arrive until mid-October, but I'm already yearning for it in the last days of August. There's something magical about autumn, something thrilling and vibrant. I can't wait.

For all the celebrity millionaires out there gushing praises on Dolly Parton who've never done shit for anyone but themselves, here's the link to Dolly's Imagination Library for your donations. donate.imaginationlibrary.co…

Taking several boxes for donation to this place tomorrow. RIP, Dolly--There'll never be another like you. bookem-kids.org/give-books/

Best horror film I've watched in a long time--and it's only 16 minutes long--2013's Ghost Train.

Five movies I always want to watch: At Close Range Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid Patton The Wild Geese Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

I hate to say goodbye to my pals, but I'm going in! @joelansdale

Never cared much for arrogance disguised as art.

So close. Kwaidan's the only one I haven't seen and it's up on the shelf.

Finishing up the AppleTV Cape Fear adaptation. No one plays crazy like Juliette Lewis. Anytime I watch her, I wonder if she actually IS nuts.

So much great stuff, so little time... @almakatsu @JoyceCarolOates @joelansdale @Cat_Cavendish @CarolineKepnes

Obsession was good, but in all honesty I haven't seen an exceptional movie since COVID hit. Holding out hope for The Odyssey.

I wonder if I should be concerned... Every song Max Cady plays in his car is on the USB stick in MY car.
