We have built 10 different AI products at PostHog like PostHog AI, our Wizard, Replay Vision, Scouts, and more. Combined, they are used by nearly 100k people every month. Along the way, we’ve learned a lot about building them, what works, and what doesn’t. Here are the 38 most important lessons:

the right way to use model capabilities is not to ship 10x more features to prod it's to spend more time understanding your users, trying experiments, building prototypes, learning about things you don't understand so that you can ship things that actually work

The White House media ban reminds me of the Teddy Roosevelt quote: “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Yes - Siri is finally good! It’s truly useful for so many more things now.
Apple needs to get the word out on how good the new Siri is. I recommend a full ad campaign. I’m at a Cambridge conference today and asking people if they’ve updated to the new iOS. Most common answer: Yes Next I ask, have you used the new Siri? Most common answer: There’s a new Siri? ps: the responses have been a good reminder to me that most people don’t obsess about this stuff every day like I do. Either way, the new Siri is great, and Apple has an opportunity to let the US know.

In Texas they found 117 potential noncitizens out of 18 million voters. That's .00065%. And that's an an upper bound; these are merely "potential" noncitizens. This is a fake problem.

Dario's essay points towards the right path forward. The details need working through, but the direction is correct for meeting this critical moment. This is also why we recently put out our proposal for an industry-wide standards body for frontier AI. xitter.cf/demishassabis/status/2…
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. Lake Ontario forever 🌊🌊
I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters. In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms. Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

US president, Ronald Reagan, and Canadian Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney, in 1988. Later that year, Reagan said: “Our peaceful trading partners are not our enemies; they are our allies. We should beware of the demagogs who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends—weakening our economy, our national security, and the entire free world—all while cynically waving the American flag."

NOAA launches the weather balloons, floats the ocean buoys, flies the satellites, and staffs the forecasters that tell us when storms are coming. That data supports about two-thirds of the economy, roughly $1.3 trillion a year, and it paid us back $73 for every dollar we spent on it. DOGE took a chainsaw to it anyway. They cut 2,500 people. They pushed out 27,000 years of experience in just a few months. Now a charter fishing captain in Homer, Alaska has spent half a season with no idea what the wind is doing in waters he fishes every day. Kansas got hit by two tornadoes nobody saw coming. Forecasters missed how strong a typhoon was as it headed for Alaska. Farmers, insurers, airlines, and city engineers are all working with worse information than they had two years ago. And now the Trump administration plan is to cut even deeper. They want to pull another $1.6 billion out of NOAA next year. They want to hand the rest to private companies, so your town ends up paying a business for weather data your taxes already paid for, with no promise it will even be right. Wrecking a 73-to-1 investment and sending the bill to fishermen, farmers, and families. Just crazy. forbes.com/sites/alanohnsman…

Last year at this time, Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy terminated 22 mRNA research contracts worth $500 million. Same cost as Trump’s gifted Qatari plane. Today, Merck and Moderna announced that an experimental breakthrough vaccine treatment — developed through mRNA research previously funded by NIH — has shown signs of preventing cancer from returning or spreading in a study of high-risk melanoma patients. Thank god the NIH funded this before Kennedy and the Trump administration showed up to degrade America’s health and leadership. Which Republican senator has the courage to tell Secretary Kennedy that his decisions are making Americans sicker and letting China take the lead on research, science, and technology? I’ll save you the time and give you the answer: none of them. nbcnews.com/health/health-ne…

If you want to know what’s wrong with Washington, take a look at the Rand Paul/Dr. Fauci hearing. Pointing fingers and assigning blame rather than learning lessons to prevent the next pandemic. Where are the hearings on the measles outbreak? How about hearings on the cyclosporiasis outbreak? If that’s not enough to get you sick, this administration continues to leave Americans more vulnerable than ever to disease as they continue to dismantle the FDA and the CDC.

I am a Bank of America customer @BofA_Help and am finding that they *really* don't want to talk to me. I have something I can't resolve in the app. Their phone maze is impossible to get through, and their scheduling tool for an appointment at a local branch is broken. So I called the local branch, and nobody even answers the phone (not even voicemail). This is an area where AI Agents will be helpful. Since they are not able (or willing) to pay for humans to talk to me, a good AI Agent would be able to have a conversation with me over text or phone, and resolve this quickly.

To follow-up on this - I drove to the local branch and was able to get in and see someone pretty quickly that solved my problem. Their support also reached out to me directly on Twitter/X. Thank you @BofA_Help
