The Trump administration has been quietly holding talks with China over allegations Beijing conducted secret low-yield nuclear tests and concerns about its rapidly expanding nuclear arsenal.
China strongly denies violating the 1996 nuclear-test-ban treaty.
Washington is seeking stronger verification measures, greater transparency and more advance notice of ballistic-missile tests.
The discussions currently focus on reducing nuclear risks rather than formal arms-control limits, with further talks expected next month.

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa (Jolani) in NY said he challenged President Trump over the Golan Heights during a White House visit, saying that Trump should give Israel New Jersey instead.
“You don’t own the Golan Heights to give, but you own New Jersey,” al-Sharaa said he told Trump. He added that the territory “belongs to its own people” and is not any president’s to give away.
