The lovely Liz Roberts from our client GripAble (hand rehabilitation tech) has written a guest post for Panda's blog.
It's about what she's learned working with, er, me, doing user centred design.

It feels like a big day today, but let's remember that nobody has actually informed the virus that the pandemic is supposed to be over - so please be like the vast majority of people, keeping safe and being considerate.
Something poignant about this auto-completed list of search terms. Makes you wonder what stories lie beneath these searches.

When someone has a different view from you, it's tempting to ask "Why do you think that?" But you are just setting them up for confirmation bias. A better question to ask is "How would that work in practice?" or another appropriate "How...?" question.
...This often reveals a lack of genuine understanding of what they are talking about and provokes a more interesting discussion. The tendency to think you know more than you do is referred to by psychologists as "The illusion of explanatory depth". thedecisionlab.com/biases/th….
I heard about this on my dog walk this morning, on @farnamstreet podcast with @AdamMGrant.
It amuses me that when you type ":thumb" in Slack it offers 👍 but when you type ":thumb" in Teams it offers 👎
I salute the product designer that first put grid lines on the back of wrapping paper. #Innovation!
Neat! Thanks
Linear roadmaps are misleading without a crystal ball for seeing the future. A roadmap that recognizes the existence of risk as time goes on is more honest. But an effective PM needs to anticipate possible branches, too - and create clear criteria for following each path.

ALT Three roadmaps: Misleading roadmap (linear) - “We will follow this linear path from zero to our inevitable victory, and these are the milestones that will get us there.” Honest roadmap (conical) - “We know where we are today, and have a good idea about the near future, but recognize that the future becomes uncertain.” Strategic roadmap (diverging paths) - “We know where we are today, and anticipate decision points that will change our path. We are intentionally gathering the data that will help us make those decisions.”
