From review to recommendations.
Working group representatives presented their findings on where the REED/TEWS framework and the Kano State Re-entry Guidelines can be clarified and strengthened. These inputs feed the next stage of work toward a framework the state can adopt and run on its own.
That is the aim of REED: a system that continues for girls long after any single programme ends.

Day 2 of the technical review and validation workshop.
Each technical working group presented its review of the Kano State Re-entry Guidelines and the REED/TEWS framework, pointing out what needs clarifying and where the two documents need to fit together better.
REED exists so that married girls, young mothers, and pregnant girls have a clear way back into school. These presentations are how that pathway gets sharper.

TEWS Framework
The Transition Early Warning System (TEWS) is designed to recognize warning signs early, before a girl drops out of education.
TEWS identifies, tracks, and responds to risks along a girl’s education journey from JSS through SSS 3.
The framework works through five connected actions:
TRACK: Follow her education journey.
PREDICT: Use available information to identify potential dropout risks.
ALERT: Flag warning signs early so action can be taken.
SUSTAIN: Understand the barriers putting her education at risk and connect her to support.
STEP-UP: Keep her engaged with learning, including skills, transition, education and progress support.
But TEWS does not work alone.
School leaders, transition mentors, stakeholders and advocacy form part of the wider system around the girl, helping turn information into action and action into sustained support.
Because early warning is only useful when it leads to early action.
TEWS is at the heart of the REED approach to protect girls’ education journeys.
