My #WWDC26 session is out: Use SwiftUI with AppKit & UIKit 💡
I cover adopting SwiftUI incrementally: Observation auto-updating your AppKit/UIKit views, embedding SwiftUI in the view hierarchy, bridging gesture recognizers, and full SwiftUI scenes.

One more reason to like @Observable: It isn't SwiftUI only. You can use it in AppKit and UIKit views too, so the same per property tracking works across all three frameworks.

Perf tip: In SwiftUI's lazy containers (List, LazyVStack) each ForEach element should return a constant number of views. An AnyView or if inside the closure (0 or 1 views) hits a slow path.
Fix: filter your data upfront. Debug: -LogForEachSlowPath YES

The UI Frameworks team uses this same approach themselves. AppKit controls like NSSlider, NSSwitch, and NSSegmentedControl are now actually implemented in SwiftUI under the hood.
This Wednesday I'm joining the SwiftUI Group Lab at #WWDC26, a live online Q&A with Apple engineers on the week's biggest SwiftUI news 🧪

These libraries were initially designed and implemented by @Lukasaoz who has tons of experience working with other TLS libraries. They are now ready to replace the BoringSSL X.509 layer in swift-nio-ssl in the future, making Swift on Server more secure and even faster.
