There's still time to vote. And most voting stations are NOT BUSY. It's easy, fast, you're in and out in a few minutes.
I'll be scrutineering at the count tonight. Very exciting. Question 10 on the referendum: what are your predictions?

Tragedy of the commons.
Hope everyone is having a happy Navarti. 🐘 🎉 I think I’ll celebrate tomorrow by tossing a Dumbo statue in an Ontario lake.

Alberta needs to leave Canada's mess behind.
Everyone was wondering why these outrageous wages were being posted for a Tim Hortons worker at $55/hour it’s because the immigrants are gaming the system to get permanent residency. They show that they got a $15/hr job for $30/hr, they get a fake employment contract from the manager Singh and submit the Job posting, send it to the Federal government and it’s considered high-wage high-demand so they get to stay in Canada. The whole industry isn’t set up to not hire Canadians, it’s literally set up for immigrants to game the system to get residency. We can’t live in a country that is this wreckless and sloppy. Canada is not a serious country.

How fucked up is a "news" organization when they can't call a man a man? Crime statistics are going to hit new records if MEN who commit or assist mass murders are called WOMEN.

What is the definition extortion?
An AFN draft paper for an upcoming meeting with prime minister, premiers, calls for a First Nations-controlled wealth fund, financed in part by ongoing contributions from projects of national interest. The paper says the fund should reach every First Nation, whether or not a project is near them and whether or not they consent to a project that proceeds. Receiving a benefit “would not cure an infringement, settle a disagreement or relieve the Crown of its duties.” aptnnews.ca/national-news/af…

I'm scrutineering again today in Airdrie. Much smoother process today, the volume is as heavy as yesterday (maybe more) but people are in and out in a few minutes.

To undecided Albertans, I ask one question: what protects us when Ottawa turns against Alberta again? Not promises. Not goodwill. Not temporary exemptions. We need leverage and lasting change. That is why I am voting Option 2 on October 19.

Socialism strikes again.
Same. I'm paying more for after-school care right now than Eby is for daycare. It's just a bad program though. I'm poor and I've got 4 kids so i should love it, but it's garbage. Childcare provider's hate it, because once they sign up they have no control over their prices, the government tells them what they can charge. But if you don't sign up you are competing with the $10 a day outfits which are driving down the price. On top of that, $10 a day is geared towards the big group daycares. The best daycares are the family daycares: women running a daycares out of their homes, who provide personalized care, take kids on adventures, and are a familiar face. Group daycares are boring institutions with a revolving staff. But the women running the family daycares are being driven out of the industry by the government.

Tomorrow/Tuesday at 7:30pm, I will finish a shift as a scrutineer at an advanced poll in Airdrie. I know lots of people are concerned about ballot integrity. I will be available for interviews starting at 8pm. DM me before 7:30pm to let me know you're interested to hear a scrutineer's perspective of the process. I may host a space here on X or join one of I'm invited.

‼️Holy crap -- look how badly the Canadian Dream got DESTROYED for single people and/or stay at home parents Canada went from ONE person being able to afford a home with 4.3x their annual income in 1970 to that same median earner needing 17.4X their annual income to buy a home in Canada. (I decided to look at Home Prices vs. INDIVIDUAL income to see how different generations could afford to have one parent stay home) Stay at home parents = GONE. Single = You're screwed. You REALLY need 2 incomes to even survive in this country now.

Make no mistake. Even Canada's Conservative parties are radical socialists. Here's an example: a "conservative" party leader pledging to keep or increase property taxes to fund more social programs.
Our seniors built BC. They shouldn't be taxed out of the homes they paid for or stuck waiting for care. We'll reverse the NDP's property tax deferment changes, build more long-term care beds, expand home care and ensure care funding follows seniors.
