This whole thread is @polotek at his best. Iāve been doing a lot of thinking about why we give up power when it is given to us and I think this conversation has a lot to do with it. Iāve been calling a lot of the reasons managerial work sucks the triangle of tension.
Replying to @polotek
A big part of my argument around these things is that managers don't have all of the power, but they do have power. And it's important for middle managers to understand what power they have and to wield it thoughtfully and intentionally. xitter.cf/polotek/status/1353424ā¦

But have you heard of mustelification?

Appreciate you so much, @brokeymcpoverty. All the criticisms are valid. The sheer tonnage of complexities & failings of these people I couldnāt get. Or wrestled with but cut. I took 6 years and fit as much as I could in a 2.5 hour musical. Did my best. Itās all fair game.
