It's hilarious how many independence movements Brexit absolutely flattened. Thank you, UK, for taking a shot to the nuts on this for the rest of us.

[exhausted 2019 voice] these riots wouldn't have happened under President Jadot...

Also it's crazy how tall Sealdah has become over the past 10 years

The absolute terror of sex on display in these threads is disconcerting. People shouldn't feel like this.
Adultery is an animalistic manifestation of uncontrolled lustful desires. It is a betrayal of not only one’s spouse but also of one’s own dignity as a human being. A society which tolerates such barbarism eventually normalises it and gradually dismantles its own edifice.

The broader left is going to remain aimless and floundering until somebody describes what the "means of production" are in an economy that's 80% high-value services. Is the aesthetician's MoP her chair? Her scissors? Her contact list? Her Istagram feed?

I don't remember tax revolts being quite this midwit in years past
Do you think you should get taxed every year on your car you paid cash for once?

We should double property taxes for people over 65 to encourage downsizing and free up inventory for young families
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

At a certain point, the hard-left in Western democracies needs to wean itself off of exalting and replicating tactics employed by revolutionary movements to overthrow archaic autocracies and rickety provisional governments crippled by wartime emergencies over a century ago.

My ursinity on AI has always been about the finances rather than the technology itself. There's no way we get to a point where people are willing to pay the actual cost of inference, and the industry is out of time.
There's a funny concept in business: you should earn more than you pay out in expenses. AI firms have not hit upon a business model that would do that, and investors are getting tired of waiting for success. prospect.org/2026/10/16/the-…

In 5 years it will probably used at tier-1 universities for grant-funded math research, but nobody else will be able to afford it.

You guys understand those thrusters will never, ever be allowed on a street-legal vehicle in the US, right?

OK what the fuck are we even giving KSA all this money for if they're getting absolutely dog-walked by a bunch of khat chewers on the other side of the Sarawat?

It's kind of epic geopolitical trolling that Modi rebranded BRICS to be an English language acronym and the rest of them had to go along with it because he was hosting the summit.

I wonder what these guys think the hammer and sickle symbolized?
A big part of why Communism appeals to me is the idea of unlocking the true creative potential of humanity and removing the obstacles preventing excellence. Capitalism stifles human ingenuity, who knows what brilliant things we can do once we are free.

People who think robots aren't working in mines, drilling for oil, or handling toxic chemicals.
Why aren’t robots working in mines, drilling for oil, handling toxic chemicals, or cleaning plastic out of our oceans? Why are they writing emails and creating art instead? Shouldn’t technology be taking over the dangerous jobs, not the creative ones? What the hell are we doing?
