Earth's Mightiest Heroes is to Avengers what Wolverine and the X-Men is to X-Men. Just a wildly under appreciated gem with amazing interpretations of lesser known storylines that died too soon.

I think it captures the vibe really well. The gritty combat might be better in another system (but again, probably Gamma World or Omega World)

It doesn't help that often they come into a space not necessarily knowing/caring that someone has made a top notch system already. Apocalypse World does Fallout better than Fallout and Scum and Villainy does plucky space rogues better than Firefly and Bebop official systems

I just straight up ignored it and grafted the Brindlewood Bay clue/solve system over it instead. Worked out pretty well.

I got low key mad when I was reading a mystery system recently that just said "don't worry about the clues, they don't actually do anything" and the clue finding was like half of the rest of the mechanics

Yeah, I definitely feel like I'm starting over but the sheer lack of engagement here doesn't make it feel as bad as it would have lol

Yeah, I'm really trying to go in on 🔵🌥️ because I feel like I get more engagement there with like 30 followers than on here with 1800
It's always wild when you see something super bizarre in a Power Rangers season (like a main cast country western cowboy ninja ranger) & you find out that it is actually original to the Sentai season
Complete with cowboy hat helmet, spandex sarape and ninjato guitar

Is the resplendent hand on chin, eyes in the middle distance like you are pondering a wicked secret you will never tell not your Resting Dave Face? 😆

Ironically Nickelodeon went almost the complete opposite way, two sort of ok seasons (Beast Morphers and Dino Charge) and a bunch of great sentai premises totally ruined for PR (Samurai, Ninja Steel and above all the anniversary meta season anti heroic Pirate Rangers)

To me it's one of the swingiest shows. Individual arcs are some of the best out there but the whole thing hangs together a bit poorly. Non high school, super powered adult rangers with an interesting setting are all big pluses for me though

I think the comics (& recent movie) show that there is great potential for older skewing PR but the mainline has remained in kids TV for the toy sales & that always hampers them getting above a certain level. Only RPM really got to go ham and that's cause they thought it was over

Everyone was worried going into the Disney era but they really put out 4 awesome seasons in their run (Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, Jungle Fury, RPM) & except for Overdrive the others were still pretty good (SPD, Mystic Force). Even Overdrive had a cool concept just badly executed

Top notch stuff there. Also a decent job of adding some backstory at the same time in a way that doesn't feel shoehorned
