As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we want to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous people whose resources, welcoming spirit and willingness to share them, made the first Thanksgiving possible.
May everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. Today and every day, we are thankful to serve you.

Mayor Moss was like a Father to me - loving, knowledgeable and motivating. Though he may no longer be here physically, his legacy will live on for generations in Tacoma. (4/4)
In this current time of civic unrest and heightened calls for social justice, we as a community can begin to understand both the monumental weight and the deep necessity of Mayor Moss’s decades of dedicated work. (3/4)
He will be remembered as an architect of the civil rights movement in the Pacific Northwest. He spent his life advocating for fair and equal representation for those underserved in housing, employment, education and basic civil rights. (2/4)
This week our community suffered a great loss. Harold Moss was a trailblazer, becoming the first African American to serve on the Tacoma City Council and eventually becoming the first African American Mayor of the City of Tacoma. (1/4)
