My dad gave me a MILLION Confederate dollar bill when I was a kid. When I asked him what I could do with it, he said, "Nothing." That's what's coming for the US dollar. First, a few retailers will say, "we accept Bitcoin” and then a few will say, "we ONLY accept Bitcoin." The moment that happens, people will panic and run to the bank. They’ll pull their dollars out and convert to Bitcoin. Please own some Bitcoin, so you don’t panic when people don’t accept your dollars. This is why I'm telling everyone the same three things right now: 1. Buy enough Bitcoin to keep your family alive for 6 months. 2. If you run a company, hold enough Bitcoin to pay your employees for 4 weeks. 3. If you manage a government treasury, put some percentage in Bitcoin. Full conversation with Coinage is linked below. 👇

Some personal news for a Friday: I’ve wrapped up my time with Metaplanet. I'm grateful for the experience diving deep into Japan’s bitcoin ecosystem and getting a front-row seat to the inner workings of a public bitcoin treasury company. What’s next? Three things: Verify Wealth: Teaming back up with my good friend and colleague @idahohodl to help scale @vrfywealth as CMO. We’ve built a premier financial planning firm for high-conviction bitcoiners before, and we’re refining the playbook this time around to make it even better. Bitcoin Scholars Fund: Stepping up as President of @Bitcoinscholars. We’re kickstarting the K–12 bitcoin education flywheel by tapping into an upcoming 2027 Federal tax credit, giving donors a way to cut their tax bill by up to $1,700 and fund real-world financial literacy for kids at zero net cost. Branta: Advising @unfakekeith and @brantaops. In the age of AI exploits, Keith and team are hardening the entire bitcoin transaction layer, increasing conversions, driving revenue, and reducing fraud while making transacting bitcoin even more secure. Still wildly bullish on bitcoin. Still don't own enough. Would smash buy. Onwards!

Sitting through those intro calls last week was clarifying. So many people who’ve already done the hard part (stacked bitcoin and secured their keys) are still stuck explaining it to advisors who treat it like an afterthought. Glad we’re finally in a position to close the planning gap.
After dozens of intro calls last week, one thing is clear: Bitcoiners are ready for real wealth planning, not generic advice from legacy advisors. We’re opening our calendar for Week 2. Grab a time with the Verify Wealth team to review your setup 👇verifywealth.com

This is a big one. I've known Jessy for as long as I've worked in Bitcoin. He's an incredible friend and father, and easily one of the sharpest advisors in the industry. The guy is genuinely motivated by serving his clients and their families, and building what he believes should exist in the world. I can also personally vouch for his ability to construct a custom duct and noise suppression system so he could heat his entire house with a single Whatsminer M30S+. Who wouldn't want that from their advisor?! Really proud to see the launch of Verify Wealth. Congrats @idahohodl. Looking forward to pointing Legacy OpSec clients your way.
I spent the last 4 years learning about what bitcoin holders actually need from a financial planner, and what the traditional financial planning industry keeps getting wrong about them. Today, I'm launching Verify Wealth (@vrfywealth) built for that client specifically. Flat fee planning, so compensation does not scale with your bitcoin. Encrypted communications by default. No client information touching Big Tech AI. Planning, tax, inheritance, and custody, all coordinated under one roof. Strategy. Simplicity. Security. If you've outgrown your advisor, let's have a conversation this week.

There's an extremely short list of certified financial planners that can also help you set up multi-vendor multisig and choose which mining pool to point your hash power towards, and @idahohodl is my recommendation. Congrats on the launch! 🎉🎉

Make the move to multisig with hardware wallets from different vendors.

The current situation is bigger than Coldcard. Bitcoin custody should not depend on one seed, one device, or one manufacturer. Multi-vendor multisig, collaborative custody, and multi-institution custody are designed to reduce the impact of any single device, firmware, or vendor failure. Here’s an early preview from the upcoming Legacy OpSec Bitcoin Hardware Wallet Buyer’s Guide, showing how leading signing devices integrate with popular wallet coordinators and collaborative custody platforms. Coldcard remains in the matrices for an accurate view of platform compatibility. However, Legacy OpSec recommends migrating away from Coldcard to another hardware wallet or custody platform while Coinkite's investigation remains ongoing. For those who prefer not to manage their own keys, Onramp Multi-Institution Custody is another option worth evaluating. If you want help comparing these models, choosing compatible devices, or implementing a more resilient setup, DM me or reach out to @legacyopsec. For a limited time, we're waiving the $450 onboarding fee for new ongoing clients. 👉 legacyopsec.com

Update after 22 hours: We’re still providing around-the-clock transaction assistance for anyone affected by the Coldcard vulnerability. So far, Legacy OpSec has helped move more than $1M in bitcoin to wallets secured by new seeds, with no reported losses among the clients we’ve assisted. If you need hands-on help reviewing your setup or migrating funds safely, reach out. This is a difficult moment for many Bitcoiners, but it will pass. Stay calm, verify every step, and don’t rush a transaction you don’t understand. DM me, reply here, or reach out to @legacyopsec.
We’ll be up late tonight at @legacyopsec helping anyone who needs to move bitcoin secured by a Coldcard MK3 to a new wallet. If your MK3 is part of a multisig setup or used with a collaborative custodian like Unchained or Casa, the reported vulnerability does not appear to put your funds at risk. The primary concern is single-key setups. If you’re unsure how your wallet is configured or have questions, reach out. DM me, reply here, or call me directly if you have my number.

COLDCARD SECURITY ALERT 🚨 If your seed phrase was generated on a Coldcard using affected firmware, move your bitcoin to a wallet secured by an entirely new seed as soon as possible. Updating the Coldcard or restoring the same seed onto another device does not fix the affected seed. Single-signature wallets are the most urgent. Multisig users should identify whether a Coldcard-generated key is affected and replace it. If you need to act immediately, move the funds to a trusted exchange or a wallet secured by a newly generated, unaffected seed. We’re helping clients through the migration process at Legacy OpSec. Existing clients take priority, but signing up today moves you to the front of the queue. Feel free to DM me, reply here, or call me directly if you have my number. legacyopsec.com

I’m convinced that intelligence is overrated. Intelligent people are more likely to overthink, overplan, and overanalyze. They hide behind motion that doesn't create progress. They fear the judgment of others if they're proven wrong. The truth is that intelligence is abundant. Especially now. AI is making it a commodity. Courage is not. And it can’t be replaced. The people you admire are the ones who had the courage to act. They aren’t more talented than you. They aren’t smarter than you. They just took action when you didn’t. I often wonder how many extraordinary people wasted their entire lives waiting for permission that never came. Permission isn't granted. Permission is taken. You get to tap yourself in whenever you want. You can just do things. Courage beats intelligence. Remember that.

This is one of the best books on bitcoin available. The original Gradually, Then Suddenly series of essays helped shape my understanding of Bitcoin. Reflecting on it now, Parker and these essays played a significant role in my decision to join Unchained in 2021. GTS the book is a more coherent and thoughtfully structured version of those essays, covering the problems with fiat currencies, bitcoin fundamentals, common misconceptions, and the case for bitcoin's inevitable success. Reading it will give you a deep appreciation of the technology, economics, and implications of a global Bitcoin standard. In a world overrun with AI-generated content it was also refreshing to see that Parker commissioned a real artist for the cover and narrated the audiobook himself. Impressive display of proof-of-work.

A Bitcoin fork can leave the same keys controlling coins on two chains—creating an opportunity to claim and sell forked coins, but also real privacy and security risks if handled incorrectly. @phil_geiger’s guide is excellent. Legacy OpSec can help clients understand the trade-offs and navigate the process safely. If you are considering claiming forked coins but aren’t completely comfortable handling the process alone, schedule a no-cost consultation before moving any bitcoin: @legacyopsec

Important caveats: claiming forked coins is not necessarily free money. Sending them to a KYC exchange may link your identity to the bitcoin holdings associated with them. Without replay protection, moving “Forkcoin” could also move your real bitcoin. Don’t touch either immediately, and don’t move the forked coin until your real bitcoin is safely separated. There is also no guarantee “Forkcoin” will have any meaningful value. Your first question should not be: “How do I claim them?” It should be: “Should I claim them at all?” @legacyopsec can help you answer both.

More on replay attacks: @ForrestHODL put together some of the clearest explainers I’ve found on what replay attacks are and how transactions intended for one chain could also be accepted on the other: xitter.cf/ForrestHODL/status/207…
