🚨 BREAKING: James Comey posts a video statement following his indictment
"My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn't imagine ourselves living any other way.
We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn't either.
Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant. And she's right. But I'm not afraid. And I hope you're not either.
I hope instead you are engaged. You are paying attention. And you will vote—like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does.
My heart is broken for the Department of Justice. But I have great confidence in the federal judicial system.
And I'm innocent. So let's have a trial and keep the faith."

The Ernst, Grassley, & Murkowski Amendment corrects several of the clean energy provisions that are most damaging to American workers, American businesses, and American energy leadership.
SEIA encourages all Senators to support this amendment and thanks @SenJoniErnst, @lisamurkowski, and @ChuckGrassley for their responsible leadership.
We support Amendment 2704 offered by Senators Ernst, Grassley and Murkowski and urge the Senator to also support it on the floor.
This amendment reverts back to the Senate Finance committee text for commenced construction and phase-out for 48E and 45Y, removes the excise tax

Solar and storage were 84% of new electricity added to the grid last year and 75% of new projects under development.
@elonmusk is correct: the reconciliation bill's upending of American energy and new taxes on solar are "utterly insane."

Sen. Tillis is absolutely lighting up @AlexEpstein saying
"the so-called philosopher" has "clearly never worked a day in the energy industry."
He says he's sick of people who write white papers suggesting terrible policies that would obviously break the grid.

China will be the world's first electro-state, the global clean tech hegemon. Especially as the Republican Party forces the US to leave the field of competition uncontested and dig into our role as petro-state. The 21st century vs the 20th.
The big story is not just China’s shift to renewable energy but its rapid progress in electrification, which is a strategic priority for China’s central government. @ember_energy

There's no other way... solar is essential for meeting America's rising energy demand.
Upending solar and storage in the reconciliation bill will create a dangerous energy shortage.

Stunningly, the new Senate budget bill contains a NEW tax on wind & solar power projects. Avoiding the tax depends on positive demonstration that projects dont violate material assistance rules that is next to impossible to demonstrate. Based on my calcs, could raise taxes on wind & solar projects by up to:
~11% for utility scale solar
~8% for residential solar
~18% for on and offshore wind projects
That comes on top of ending a 30-50% tax cut for wind and solar projects. So this bill could RAISE TAXES on the most important new sources of electricity supply in the USA by at least roughly 40-70%!!
That is utter insanity!

The main thing to remember about this Musk-Trump fight is that the Republican bill will bounce 16 million people off of Medicaid and collapse rural hospitals in order to give the biggest tax cut in history to people making more than four million bucks.
