You people don’t understand the scale and multiplicity of looting going on to the little resources that we have as a nation.
Yes, what we have is currently insufficient, but it is bad that the meagre one is stolen. On what do we build sustainable wealth if the little we have is philandered?
Picture this: there is a leaking tank with multiple holes. It can’t get full because of the holes, and those who get to use the tap are on the queue famished in perpetuity. No one close to the tank has made efforts to seal these holes so that there is sufficient water for everyone. Everyone that gets close to the tank pokes an extra hole in it to get his own share of the pool before it rushes out of the tap.
People are dying because of the flagrant mismanagement of the resources that we don’t have. We could have had significantly better societies, have quality options, make better choices, have a better standard of living, and brace the odds from there.
*sigh*
4 students, one other lady k+lled as Niger gov’s convoy allegedly rams into their car
Five people, including four male students and a young woman, have lost their lives in a fatal road crash involving a vehicle in Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s convoy in Minna.
The accident occurred on Monday around Gidan Mangoro along the Minna–Bida Road when a Hilux van travelling with the governor’s convoy collided head-on with a Peugeot 206.
The Peugeot was being driven by a woman identified as Mrs Nafisa, who d+ed at the scene. She was said to be an NGO staff member, Programme Manager at Labspace and founder of Wosh Mart Service Ltd.
According to a resident, Abdullahi Musa, the crash happened at about 11:35am while Governor Bago and his team were returning from Bida, where they had paid a condolence visit to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, over the death of Sagi Nupe Hajia Aisha.
The occupants of Nafisa’s vehicle were suspected to be postgraduate students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Musa said, “The people in the private car d+ed instantly, while those in the government Hilux sustained serious inj¥ries with the driver dying on the spot.”
He stated that the crash resulted from wrongful overtaking by the convoy vehicle, adding that the Peugeot was on its lane when the Hilux crashed into it.
A staff member of Minna General Hospital said three victims d+ed at the scene, while two others later succumbed to inj¥ries. Some inj¥red victims were reportedly transferred to IBB Specialist Hospital for further treatment.
One occupant of the Hilux, identified as a former Niger State local government council chairman, suffered leg fractures but survived.
FRSC Sector Commander Aishat Sa’adu confirmed the crash, while police spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun said the incident was under investigation.
“The accident occured this morning and we are investigating it,” Abiodun said.

The minimum solar installation required to qualify is 50kWp. That's roughly 80 - 100 solar panels, depending on their wattage. This immediately excludes most homes and small to mid sized businesses in Nigeria.
The policy is clearly targeted at industrial scale solar users and minigrids, which is fine. But let's not frame it as though it applies to anyone with solar panels. Less than 0.5% of homes with solar qualifies
Many of us raised concerns about these high eligibility requirements during the community outreach for this policy, but... – at Lagos, Nigeria
Turn your excess solar energy into savings with NERC's Net Billing regulations! By exporting surplus electricity from your home or business to the grid, you can earn energy credits to reduce your monthly bill.

"I never wanted to make this post, but EFCC , please stop pushing false narratives. I was humiliated and assaulted by your officers yesterday. The estate’s CCTV cameras captured everything. If I was truly calling residents to inform them about your officers, why did your officers later apologize to me and return my phone? Make it make sense." Lady said
