Anyone who can take on 4 dudes while dressed like a delightful but mischievous 18th-century chimneysweep certainly deserves a feather in his… Never mind.

I'll take this one Many of us feel that there is nothing that Black people can do to prevent white people from believing this nonsense A thread.

I've always wondered how Blacks and other POC who benefit from affirmative action feel about the perception some may have that their achievements — however fully earned — may be partially due to bias in favor of minorities. This is unhealthy for minorities and society at large.

The greatest compliment you will ever receive as a parent is finding out that your kids’ playlist is filled with songs you made them listen to when they were riding in the backseat.

There was a shoplifting ring in my hometown who was known for dropping huge sums of money on designer clothes. Everyone in town knew who they were, but they NEVER got caught. Some high end stores would even let them shop freely, KNOWING they were thieves Why? A thread

When people excuse racism because “things were different back then” or it “was a different time,” they don’t mean the actions in question weren’t considered racist. They mean, back then, white people didn’t have to pretend they cared.

Perspective is important. Yes, Gone with the Wind is racist but it was also made in 1939 and the story takes place during the Civil War. That doesnt make it good but makes it of its time

The first interaction I had with this man was when he came into my classroom and told me and some other Black students that he, a white man at Howard Law, experienced more discrimination in his time at HUSL than any of us Black students had experienced in our lives.

If you don’t think Eddie Murphy is a GREAT actor, this scene imo encapsulates not only the essence of what makes Beverly Hills Cop a classic but his incomparable acting range. He does about 20 things in a 3 minute scene that put him in a class by himself. Eddie is 1 of 1. – at Long Beach, CA

Tyre Nichols was killed by Black, college educated cops who received extra training & passed required psychological exams How’s that “We-don’t need-to-defund-the-police-we-just-need-a-better-trained-more-educated-more-diverse-police-force” thing working out?

Stephen A. Smith might be right. Maybe it's wrong to judge Jerry Jones for something that happened 65 years ago. Maybe he was just "curious." How could anyone know? A thread.

I’m very fond of Jerry Jones and he doesn’t deserve what just happened to him!
