OHBA looks forward to working with Premier @fordnation and his new government, and is pleased by his commitment to reduce development charges, make significant investments in infrastructure to support new home development, and standardize study requirements and Building Code approvals to bring transparency and consistency to the process of building a home in Ontario. This is what Ontario needs to get new homes built.

Congratulations to OHBA Past Chair, @dinobuilder, and OHBA Past Chair and Interim CEO, Neil Rodgers, for receiving the Paul Wright Memorial Award at the @WestEndHBA Industry Luncheon yesterday. This is a wonderful recognition of their contribution to the home builders' association and the residential construction industry, and we thank them for their years of dedication.

Did you know that only about 30% of the cost of a new home is the cost of building the home? Most of it is land, government fees, and taxes - making the government the biggest financial beneficiary of the sale of new homes. So, if you buy a new home for $1,000,000, about $300,000 of that is government fees and taxes. In the midst of an affordability crisis, Canadians need less taxes, not more. That's why OHBA supports @PierrePoilievre's letter to Premiers today calling for a provincial sales tax cut on homes under $1 million. #ONHousing #CDNPoli
