wake up babe another ai researcher resigned and has taken to the tl with more horrors beyond our comprehension 🤠
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

OpenAI’s run lately 🐐
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

It’s official. Good guys won fair and square 🙂‍↕️
I went looking for proof Western Michigan got robbed. Unfortunately, I’m now somewhat confident Michigan deserved the extra play 😭 Used Astra to sync two camera angles, check the visible stadium-clock ticks, and examine the first touch frame by frame. Both possible frames when the ball was first touched leave time remaining. Even using the latest possible frame & shifting the sync one frame against Michigan leaves about 0.03 seconds on the clock.. Don't hate me for this, it hurts me as much as you 🥲

i really think one of the coolest consequences of ai will be people doing more things themselves in the real world before, to learn something outside your domain required a class, a mentor, a book, hours of youtub, etc. which is a lot to just start now, you can know absolutely nothing about woodworking, and say "I want to make this table. here are the tools I have. teach me." and have an infinitely patient helper take you from zero to one and through the entire messy middle cooking, sewing, baking, gardening, electronics, photography, car repair, furniture restoration, leatherworking, drawing, painting, learning instruments, etc. exciting times ahead beautiful tables @preshdkumar 🤝
no better time to become multidisciplinary using AI to learn woodworking and build things with my hands table 001: patio table table 002: dining table table 003: work desk

community people! go to this 🫵🏽
I’m hosting a Startup Community Leaders Gathering next Tuesday in SF. Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time in the community space, watching fellow conveners create some of the most memorable rooms in the city – for founders, engineers, researchers, operators, and investors. These gatherings do more than bring people together. They create the relationships that make San Francisco feel like a place where everyone is only one degree away from each other. They help ideas travel faster, friendships form sooner, and companies find customers, talent, partners, and distribution. But this gathering is a little different. This time, I’m bringing together the people who are usually the hosts. The people behind the rooms where friendships were formed. The people building founder and developer ecosystems inside their companies. The people whose networks become distribution. The people quietly shaping how the SF startup ecosystem connects. The room is bringing together a slice of SF’s AI/startup ecosystem infrastructure: VC ecosystems, startup programs, AI builders, developer communities, founder networks, partnerships, GTM, enterprise access. We already have leaders joining from across AI infrastructure, developer tools, startup programs, partnerships, community, and GTM. If you sit at an intersection of the roles above within a Seed+ startup, I’d love to have you apply. To keep the room diverse, we’re limiting attendance to two people per company. Space is limited. Register below. (Memory from our initial gathering 6 months ago)

In the past 6 months we’ve produced a cheaper, more efficient seeding material, trained a hyper-resolution AI weather model, and operated 100+ cloud seeding flights for the governments of Texas and New Mexico. Recast Systems is coming out of stealth. Here’s some of the research we’ve been working on. (1/n)

The mentalities of elite athletes are not talked about nearly enough. You learn so much about life through high level athletic competition (and not just on mental toughness) Worth a read!

has anyone else become frustrated with claude’s need to correct you before answering?? it makes an incorrect assumption about your thinking, attributes it to you, then explains why it’s wrong just to sound more insightful before finally answering your question (if it even does answer the original question). is this a new issue?? I feel like im losing my mind 🫠 Cc @DarioAmodei
