We trained the #1 decision models in the world, mammoth-1 and elephant-1! This is our first Base Labs model release and we're excited to open-source all weights and training details. We really focused on scaling high-quality data in these training runs – not only synthetically generating new decision data but stacking how we validated our data. This follows something called our 'swiss cheese' approach to looping over and improving training data. There are also a bunch more low hanging fruit when it comes to training these models, and we expect that we'll improve quickly over the coming weeks.
Today we release mammoth-1 and elephant-1! We post-trained mammoth-1, the #1 ranked best decision model in the world, and elephant-1, which is the best model under 15B (and beats Jev). We're open-sourcing all model weights and provide a technical report detailing all our training and data methods.

Insane. There are literally 7 other JFK terminals and 2 other NY airports they could've used
Here it comes. The 16 hour flight from 🛫 Auckland, to... 🛬 Auckland 😨😨 The flight made a U-turn because of the closure of Terminal 1 at JFK. flightradar24.com/ANZ2/2f374… #NZ2

eSIMs are so cool. Just scan a QR code to add a second carrier to your phone. No more need to buy a physical SIM card when traveling in another country

Important new tax case confirming that marshmallows of unusual size are 0% VAT; standard size marshmallows continue to be 20% VAT As ever, any sufficiently detailed VAT rule is indistinguishable from satire.

Is there a good example of a bank successfully running an immigration program? Can you imagine that risk committee?? The reputational risk alone "Barclays denied my immigration" headlines I can't see how the exceptional talent Visa survives...

The dawn of preauthorizations: "we’ve created a new type of transaction that is a preauthorized request. This would be used at places like gas stations where intended purchases don’t always match up to actual purchases (because who knows exactly how much gas their tank holds)."

A few years ago I let the hosting and domain expire for my old personal blog richarddingwall.name. Surprisingly it's back online. Turns out a scammer bought the domain and published a new WP site with their own nefarious content injected into a handful of my original posts

shoutout to @scozzard for spotting the spam links/content injected into my old posts
I'd very much like them to take it down but I'm not quite sure what my options are.
This national infant formula shortage is getting a bit scary. Anyone know where you can buy Similac Pro Sensitive in Manhattan?
