🇨🇦 From sea to skyline, Team Vancouver has a new home!
Our Vancouver team has moved into a modern Diligent office in the heart of downtown, with spaces designed to bring people together and help them do their best work.
We marked the move with a week of team activities and a big thank you goes to everyone who helped bring the new space to life. 🍁

🤔 Who’s accountable when AI informs a board decision?
That question was top of mind for governance and legal leaders at the Board Secretaries and General Counsels event in #Dubai, hosted by Marcus Evans Group 🇦🇪
Narimane Kurdi spoke with attendees from across the Middle East about what responsible AI use looks like in the boardroom, while Qais Gharaibeh shared Diligent’s perspective during a speaking session.
A clear evidence trail matters. That’s why Diligent AI gives leaders cited insights drawn from their own board materials, with the source of every answer just one click away. bit.ly/4jhKhM5

📍 Most of the agentic AI conversations we had at #CAEConference2026 started with governance. Audit and risk leaders in Abu Dhabi are keen to cut manual work, but first they want to know they can trust what the AI produces.
That’s a healthy place to start. It was great to hear how teams across the region are building that trust into their AI plans from the beginning, so the time they save goes into the work that needs real judgment.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and to UAE IAA - UAE Internal Auditors Association for bringing everyone together. #UAE #APAC #AI #GRC #AbuDhabi #AgenticAI
Regulation almost always follows governance failure. Social media taught us that. Kathryn Henry (lululemon) on why boards should set the AI standard themselves, before a regulator does it for them, because the boards that wait will not enjoy the outcome. #TrustedToLead bit.ly/3U3bUOL
🇩🇪 Last week in Munich, a standing-room-only group of supervisory board members and executives came together to discuss what boards need in the AI era.
As boards work through these questions, the latest research shows that 82% of U.S. public-company directors have used generative AI in their board work in the past six months, yet 54% say there is no guidance for directors’ use of AI at their company (Diligent Institute and @CorpBoardMember’s June 2026 Director Confidence Index).
The discussion brought together:
→ Suzanne Brown, New York Stock Exchange Board Services
→ Dominique Shelton Leipzig, Global Data Innovation
→ Siddika Demir, independent director and AI founder
→ MEP Brando Benifei, co-rapporteur on the EU AI Act, who took live questions from the room
A big thank you to Dottie Schindlinger, Dirk Pfefferle, Lea Schneider and everyone who helped bring it all together.

🗓️ Think about your last board meeting. How much of it was about what’s coming next?
Our new governance outlook for mission-driven organizations found:
→ Only 11% say their board meetings mostly look ahead
→ 49% want more time for strategic planning
The appetite is there. For many boards, finding the time is the hard part.
Clearing routine updates off the agenda is a good place to start and it’s exactly the kind of work AI should be doing for boards.
What's one update you'd happily never hear read out in a meeting again?

🔌 Your entity data can now answer questions inside the AI tools your colleagues already use.
With a secure #MCP connection in Diligent Entities, teams in tax, finance and HR can ask about entities in assistants like #ChatGPT or #Claude, under their own permissions. Every answer cites the record it came from and every query is logged.
Legal stops fielding the same requests and the record stays theirs.
Which request lands on your desk every single week?

What does it take for boards to build confidence in AI?
At the 22nd Annual Boardroom Summit, Dottie Schindlinger joined Sonita Lontoh to work through real-world AI scenarios with 300 public company directors.
The conversation explored the questions boards are facing right now, from where AI fits into the boardroom to how it can be used responsibly and who’s accountable.
Thank you to @CorpBoardMember for the mainstage and to Sonita for building a format this good. 👏

The Early Adopter Program for Compliance AI is for leaders who own oversight across the program and want earlier access to on-demand compliance intelligence.
If board prep means exporting data from multiple systems, reconciling it by hand, and analyzing it before you can answer a basic question about program risk - you’re the profile.
Qualifying early adopters get $0 access during the trial and can start testing it before their next board cycle.

Every platform you evaluate this year will use the word agentic. That word’s doing a lot of work and very little of it is yours.
3 questions to ask in the evaluation:
🔺 Can it support assessments, testing and reporting?
🔺 Can it connect risk, audit and reporting around the same context?
🔺 Can it improve outcomes across the lifecycle while keeping people in control?
Our buyer’s guides take teams through those exact questions. Grab your copy before your next evaluation. #AI #AgenticAI

A director pastes confidential board materials into a consumer AI tool to prepare for a meeting. Harmless?
Kathryn Henry says not even close, and explains why the fix is education, not prohibition.
The governance risk boards are creating for themselves with AI is hiding in plain sight.

🎙️ Christine Battist spent time in internal audit and was often surprised by what the audit committee wasn't asking.
She wasn't holding back. She assumed the board had already thought of it.
Now she has one question she likes to ask internal audit. "If you were sitting in my seat, what would you be asking?"
When did your audit committee last ask internal audit that?

💬 Picture a board deciding whether to expand into a new market. Every input comes from whatever directors, advisors, and management could read and absorb before the meeting.
Dottie Schindlinger says this is where boards using AI meaningfully pull ahead of the ones treating it as a checkbox.
An AI assistant runs that analysis wider and deeper than any person can, so directors decide with more confidence and less delay.

82% of directors have used generative AI for board work in the past six months. Only 6% report a board-specific AI policy.
Legal inherits that gap. Cathy Cartieri, Regional Vice President, Client Success Advisory, is on stage at ACC today to talk through what AI-driven change means for corporate legal departments.

The first wave of AI in GRC made old processes faster. The next one changes the process itself.
In third-party risk, that means starting every vendor with a continuously updated risk profile instead of a questionnaire, and turning new signals into owned actions as they happen.

We had the mainstage at the Corporate Board Member Boardroom Summit this week, where Dottie Schindlinger spoke to a room of roughly 300 public company directors.
The timing lined up well. We've partnered with Corporate Board Member for the past year, researching what's actually on directors' minds, including What Directors Think 2026 and the Director Confidence Index on board AI use.
Great room and even better conversations. Links to the research below 👇

Nearly everyone in compliance is quietly sitting with the same question. If AI makes the decisions, what's left for me?
We built ours around the opposite idea. It's not there to take your judgment away, it's there to make it sharper. bit.ly/47hMz6t
A "high risk" rating on a vendor tells you to worry. It doesn't tell you what to do, or why the score landed where it did.
Most compliance teams can already sort vendors into low, medium and high. The harder question is the one the board actually asks: which factor drove the rating, is that normal for a vendor like this, and what did you do about it.
Third-Party Risk Intel attaches the reasoning and the evidence to every vendor file, so a "high" becomes a decision you can defend instead of a colour you have to explain.
It's also one more signal that stops sitting on its own, which is the whole idea behind connected compliance.
