PEDOT:PSS for neural stimulation might be more stable and safe than you think. Here is the latest on how PEDOT:PSS prevents electrode corrosion and increases cell viability. Essential for long-term stable neural interfaces. @neurophoton @PasJolien. pubs.aip.org/aip/apb/article…
Fantastic work on transparant PEDOT:PSS electrodes and the long-term performance in vivo. Used to combine electrical recording with advanced imaging techniques.
Dear all, I'm happy to share our latest group publication! Great collaboration with @simonMusall

Bioelectronics GRC 2023 | Proctor Academy, Andover.
Happening this week. Looking forward to meeting you all! #bioelectronics #grc @GordonConf
How wonderful to end #S23MRS like this. Thank you @Materials_MRS for connecting great people
Thank you @dijk_gerwin for giving us a tour of the Stanford University campus and labs!
#MRS2023
Today at #S23MRS, 2pm.
Come and learn about neural stimulation with PEDOT:PSS!
The charming train station in Menlo Park. A great way to get to #S23MRS in SF!
2023 MRS Spring Meeting | San Francisco. Happening next week. Let me know if you’ll be there too!

This was great. Postdoc communities are very important and it’s super valuable if they’re supported by (former) faculty members.
Today, we had @mikhtikh and @CottsBen visit Stanford again (virtually) to tell the postdoc community at GLAM about their experience transitioning from postdoc to faculty member. The postdoc community really enjoyed the Q&A and greatly appreciated taking time for us!Thank you!
Really enjoyed the final day at #AsilomarBioelectronics learning about proteins sequencing, lipid bilayers, optical neuromodulation, eumelanin and the work of the poster winners. Also spotted some amazing wildlife during the afternoon break.
A great 3rd day at #AsilomarBioelectronics with Inspiring talks about translational neuroscience, wearable sensors, challenges in neuromodulation, proteins and skin tattoos. Also, an amazing visit at the Monterey Aquirium.
A wonderful 2nd day at #AsilomarBioelectronics. Learned about scaffolds, wearble devices, darpa, biosensors and feedback controllers. And got to meet the official Asilomar Symposium tree!
Arrived in Monterey for the Asilomar Bioelectronics Symposium 2022! #AsilomarBioelectronics
Transparent microelectrodes!
Made of PEDOT:PSS with an innovative fabrication scheme and used to combine electrical recording of neurons with 2-photon imaging in vivo. @neurophoton @AttilaKaszas2 @PasJolien.

Hey Gerwin @dijk_gerwin the metal is causing issues in our 2P imaging of the brain, can we make these probes transparent? Here's his clever fab idea that came out of that ask...@MINES_StEtienne @CampusCharpak @neurotechcenter nature.com/articles/s41378-0…

Happy to share our latest electroporation device! A pair of stimulation electrodes with integrated sensing electrodes to assess cell barrier properties. PEDOT:PSS greatly increases the sensitivity of such a system to provide better feedback. @neurophoton

Important aspect of this work is the microfabrication of two seperate metallic layers. Such a multiple layers approach enables crossing of interconnects in different layers. An idea we got from a journal club where we discussed the work of @dg80_italy. iopscience.iop.org/article/1…
Coating electrodes with PEDOT:PSS changes the cellular response to pulsed electric fields. Here is 50 days' free access to the paper from my former colleague Dr. Romanos Poulkouras that shows reduced intracellular oxidation and cell damage. authors.elsevier.com/c/1fA~f…
