thank you
@klaehnr
for writing up a fun story about our last 4 years 🚀
If you are interested in the history of the various decisions that went into @iroh_n0 1.0:
I have written a blog post about the road to iroh 1.0. There were a lot of twists and turns...

iroh on embedded, making connections to where you need them to go 🎉🎉
Bring back some chill, using @iroh_n0.
I wrote an end-to-end example showing how to use iroh on an ESP32 to read temperatures and control a fan.
Including a WASM gui, an irpc protocol, temperature sensor, fan controller, and wiring instructions.

I'm excited about Iroh 1.0! What's really exciting about it is an innovation that sounds simple—maybe even dumb!—but I think can have profoundly positive consequences over the next decade: you dial a public key instead of an IP address.

it makes me very happy to see ascii art games being built on network tech that I built, younger me would have not believed this would eventually happen
Very excited for @iroh_n0 today! To celebrate, let's play ASCII-art terminal-based p2p battle royale! Iroh makes this sort of thing trivial.
YES, 1.0 stable software, in this world! it is still happening!
Dial Keys, not IPs. After 4 years and more than 65 versions, iroh 1.0 is here to give you the direct connections you deserve.
We can’t wait to see what you will build!

🚀 And another, but (hopefully) the last one! @iroh_n0 1.0.0-rc.1 is out now. Better hole punching for everyone. Now is the time to test and upgrade!
iroh.computer/blog/iroh-1-0-…
🎉 The first RC of @iroh_n0 1.0 is here, we made it! Yes it is real, after more than 50 releases, it is time for [email protected] Thank you everyone for making this a reality!

v0.97 is out & it's a biggie:
custom transports, preset API, embeddable relay server, address filtering, and a switch to our own QUIC implementation!
iroh.computer/blog/iroh-0-97…
A new release, YES @iroh_n0 0.97.0 is here! 🚀 Now with pluggable transports, cleaner `Endpoint::bind` and our quic implementation finally having a name: `noq`
iroh.computer/blog/iroh-0-97…
I can stream encrypted video from a raspberry pi & it's better than WebRTC from Day 1: youtube.com/watch?v=GKvSE2g_…
taking @iroh_n0 to new places, security cameras can do better, and should do better

at what point do we start viewing openai employees the way we view palantir employees
NEW: The Pentagon has agreed to OpenAI's rules for deploying its technology safely in classified settings, though no contract has been signed, a source tells Axios.
The department appears to have accepted conditions similar to those put forth by Anthropic. axios.com/2026/02/27/pentago…

To support content-addressed data transfer in @iroh_n0, we have been relying on a @Blake3Team fork for quite some time.
Not anymore. Thanks to @oconnor663, there is now a nice new hazmat API that has exactly what we need, and more.
