What a match. Spain played with passion and determination from start to finish, and they earned this historic victory. Argentina also gave a strong performance and showed why they are one of football’s great nations. Congratulations to both teams for giving fans a memorable final. I also commend FIFA, and the people of the United States, Mexico and Canada for hosting a wonderful tournament that brought the world together through football. Football is truly the world’s game. It has a unique way of bringing people together through a shared love of sport. We look forward to Jamaica’s return to football’s biggest stage.
