Smart people should be given the chance to fail (at least once) without getting fired. Companies often layoff when they should harness those hard knock lessons on the next iteration.
Thinking about aviation tech this week. Friend just had to drive to the airport to check in manually 24 hours before his flight because online portal would only check in 3 of 4 people on his booking. Phone agent could not resolve, only gate agent. Suspicious! (Not SWA.)
Well, @SouthwestAir has stolen 5 days of vacation and $3000 in non-refundable trip expenses. (So far.) A day or two delay I could understand, but 5 days is criminal. @PeteButtigieg
Oh my god, I have to get an alternative sized piano. This would be a miracle. youtube.com/watch?v=ZXlknI-J… I hate how big standard keys are. Just like how I hate big phones...
Twitter is my least favorite of all social media sites. I don’t even have the app installed on my phone. I think most people can easily walk away from this app since it’s the least addictive/engaging. There’s really not much leverage here over users. My 2 cents.
Pro-tip: If you want to complete the TODO house chores list you've been putting off for weeks, schedule a party at your house. Works every time.
My go to WFH lunch (if no good leftovers) is: Instant organic brown rice, kimchi, flavored tuna fish, pistachios, cashews mixed together with a banana on the side. Added up it’s ~$8.50 for this lunch. I guess I’m mostly paying for convenience/speed but inflation is part of it.
I've been trying to buy a car for months now. Never thought I'd see the day in the USA (of all places!) where it would be so difficult to buy something, especially a car. (I'm told it's on the lot, but there are supply chain issues with a part.)
I do try to watch any shows with Asian American leads to support with viewership. But like, dang, I definitely do not enjoy reality shows or dramas no matter who is represented. Pushing that 10 second skip ahead constantly. :D
Grabbing Halloween candy off the shelf a few weeks early. Walking away. Stopping. Walking back. Putting it back on the shelf. Knowing I need to wait until the day before Halloween to buy the candy so I won't just eat Skittles all month. Know thyself.
I ate my first plumcot this summer and I love them (some varieties more than others though). And now the plumcot season is ending. :( Farewell.
Getting excited for September, the best month of weather in the Midwest. I could taste the faintest hint of Fall in the air today!
So wait, the argument is that abortion should be decided at the state level and not the federal level? Why not the county level? Why not the school district level? Why not the street level? Why not...gasp...the individual level...oh hey...
Bungling bedtime stories:
Me: "And then Ursula stole the voice and Ariel got legs."
Kid: "Did Ursula steal the voice or trade it?"
Me: "Hmm. I guess she traded it?"
Kid: "Does she get her voice back if she gives the legs back?"
Me: "Uhh." *Googles Little Mermaid contract law.*
There’s a 3 year period from 2010-2013 where I missed everything to do with US movies and pop culture. So it’s like I get to continually experience “new” stuff that is a decade old that I’ve just never heard of.
I really need ability to switch fixations. My mind doesn’t go on/off easily. Sigh. It’s the weekend and I’m thinking about work. My mind sucks.
Observations of 3 year old: Memorizes every word in Disney song immediately. I still don’t know them decades later.
