I have been really struggling.. I’m not going to lie, the Kariba tragedy and the way it has been handled by some of those with the greatest influence and loudest voices has shattered something in me. The number of those who perished keeps rising whilst those with influence have moved on..
To everyone affected, directly or indirectly, I am deeply, deeply sorry. I hope you are surrounded by love as you navigate something no human being should have to endure.
And God, whoever God means to you is not deaf to the cries of people who have lost those they love especially young children. He is not silent when innocent lives are lost through circumstances that demand answers and accountability. I pray that justice is not just spoken but delivered.
💔
End of an era for sure. I remember using her interviews for debates back in my opinionated days. You’ve run a good race Amapour 👏🏾👏🏾
Guys.. these stories are absolutely devastating man. This is reality
We are currently building our own clinic. We assisted a mother giving birth in the middle of the night (00:07) donkeys weren't close ukuthi sibophe inqola simthwale ayebelethela e clinic. She gave birth to a perfect baby boy, no complications at all. Wrapped the baby up, cleaned mommy as well. In a muddy hut, everyone ululating si happy and some gogos went back to their homes. While young mom's we stayed behind, covered ourselves in blankets and slept waiting for the morning so we can take mommy and baby to the clinic. Around 3am, mommy was soaked, she is bleeding so so much. We start tearing blankets to stop the bleeding, akuzo tjidza. We put her in a wheelbarrow with her baby there, covered them warmly and started pushing them to the clinic. We told the men to go look for donkeys, any donkey they find babophe inqola and follow us. Mommy was in so much pain. She said " MaDue ndofila mu bhara shuwa"(I will die in a wheelbarrow )I was like , akuna nhu uno lela mwana wuwo (no one will raise your child)You just need an injection to stop the bleeding that's all. Which she then said "yee e clinic babethe sizithengele i injection yakhona, manje bengingakayithengi" Another kilometer pushing her, she says "la ngiyafa la, sesichaphile uMbembeswana?" That's the river and no we were still far from it. I could tell she won't make it. Helo 🤷🏿♀️ I've seen countless dead people. I e wrapped up countless dead people. One lady was carrying the baby, I asked her to put the baby on mommy's chest. In my mind I was thinking "umntanakhe azwe i heartbeat ka mama wakhe for the last time, azwe ukufudumala komzimba ka mama wakhe okokucina". She died. Before we got to the clinic. She died in a fucken wheelbarrow, soaked in her own blood. I asked who was pushing it to stop, lifted the baby off her chest, looked at the time (time of death) pulled the blanket to cover her face. Without saying a word to the others. By doing that, baziba. We sat down, cried, prayed, the baby cried. I was so mad. I was angry. I was hurt. One lady went back home to notify others. Hhuba laka bhuda silinde isidumbu in a wheelbarrow with blood socked blankets. Guess what the clinic said? "Ubengeke asile even ubebelethele lapha ngoba asilayo i oxytocin lathi. Sasitshele omama abazithweleyo ukuthi bazithengele ko Bulawayo and bring it here sibagcinele"
She named her son Mkhanyisi jokingly saying "uzelwe kukhanyiswe ngama khandlela"
I don't hate my country, I hate the people running it @edmnangagwa legenge yakho @paultungwarara @ZANUPF_Official @zanupf_patriots

Why am I in a Bar in Gutu at 2:40am, well a neighbour had serious post op complications after a C-Section. Her husban walked 10kms to our farm (only one with a car and fuel in 36km radius). Drove 50+ km to Gutu mission … she’s in a very very grave state. No point going home in the dark alone… anything can happen on this terrible dust roads. Plus want to know if she survives. They have ZERO money for treatment. I pray the Jnr Doctor on duty can save her. She cried on the bumpy dust road for half way of the journey , then she went unconscious.
All clinics (Tirizi or Majada) in our area had NO catheters, dressing or medicine to assist her.
This is my 10th emergency in the year I’ve been in gutu. All based on pregnancy.
The percentage of C-Sections at the Mission hospital is worrying considering national averages.
The folk do NOT plan in my village. They wait till it’s critical. Go to Muvhangeri to pray for 2hr then “Tisikewo” at the farm house at critical times (always after midnight)… If we had taken her even 2 hrs before she’d have arrived alive and have a better chance.
Anyways. Nothing important should be urgent. 9 months is a LONG time to plan.
Anyways.

When you’re someone who feels everything deeply and intensely it’s not always beneficial to confront every issue or injustice you feel. You have to pick your battles or you stand the risk of being gaslighted or destroying relationships that just needed change
Perfectionism is the unreasonable and self-defeating ambition of getting something absolutely right.
