The AI industry needs a marketing team that can do a much better job of explaining why AI is good for Americans. Nobody in Toledo, Ohio gives a shit about the beef between Elon and Sam or having a personal agent that can snag the 2-top at 4 Charles that became available at 5:30pm nine Tuesdays from now.
Both things can be true:
- yes, the threat is very real
- yes, it’s also regulatory capture

i know it may seem trite to discuss sports while we are in the middle of an escalating no-end-in-sight war with our mortal enemy, Canada, but how come the U.S. Open is the *only* tennis tournament where matches on center court (Ashe in this case) go on well past midnight? Got to be sponsorship dollars forcing more matches onto Ashe? none of the other majors force the players to be out there at 1, 2, 3am. it’s crazy. Basically means shelton doesn’t even really get a day off (fortunately for him playing Tiafoe who also had a grueling 5 set match).
I couldn’t be more excited to see this. John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Parker Posey, and Steve Buscemi? I’d watch them play Wheel of Fortune.

Alex continues to be levelheaded and forthright about AI cybersecurity matters and does about as good a job as possible steering clear of the ranting and finger pointing.

"Runnin' Down a Dream" from @bgurley is the much better book version of the commencement speech I gave at the University of Michigan over a decade ago. I underlined 8 passages in the Introduction alone "Get off the conveyor belt", and the second to last chapter, "It Ain't Easy" was my favorite. When you are doing what you love, you become resilient. When you're doing what you think you're supposed to do, career regret inevitably follows. A+ lessons and stories (with the possible exception of Bobby Knight, but we'll let that go)
