Ten years of DesignUp. I still remember the first jamming session with @jdallcaps We were slightly envious of the great design conferences happening abroad. But more than that, we felt design conversations here had become too narrow — too much about UI and UX, and not enough about the joy of design itself. DesignUp was our small attempt to change that. The first conference happened in 2016. Ten years later, what stays with me isn’t just how much DesignUp grew. It’s how much I grew around it. A decade of meeting great designers, listening to how they think, and being reminded that good design is much bigger than what appears on a screen. You start something hoping to build a community. Then, one day, you realise the community spent ten years building you. I look forward to seeing DesignUp evolving into a generational institution to celebrate design in India.
