I’ve watched this ad, and it is among the most vile political attacks I’ve ever seen. Millions of adults from all walks of life are estranged from a parent, often because of childhood abuse and trauma that are far too common in our society. Exploiting that deeply personal pain for political gain is cruel, shameful, and deserving of unequivocal condemnation. @VivekGRamaswamy and his campaign should be held accountable for this despicable attack. It says far more about their desperation and lack of character than it ever could about @amyactonoh. A basic sense of decency and a moral compass should be the bare minimum qualifications for public office.

This is a parable about how the false conspiracy racket works. @SenEricSchmitt asks former special prosecutor Jack Smith if he was in Atlanta at a Hawks-Warriors basketball game, on 2/3/24. Smith says no. Schmidt then flamboyantly flashed an email from a Smith staffer reporting that Smith would be attending the "Hawks game" that day, and accused Smith of perjury. Called him a "dirtbag." Turns out Schmidt's Perry Mason moment was a bust. When Smith finally was given a look at the email, he recalled that that he did attended the Iowa Hawkeyes at Maryland Terrapins women's game that day to see Caitlin Clark play. The Hawkeyes were the "Hawks" referenced in the email. Records show that the game in MD did take place on that day. No apology from Schmidt, a former prosecutor. nytimes.com/live/2026/09/29/… via @NYTimes

This is priceless. Check out how local news is reporting on Sen Eric Schmidt’s clown-show grilling of Jack Smith. They found Jack Smith at the game… “Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”

Just an embarrassing moment for GOP Sen. Schmitt. What a disaster. Confirmation bias virus runs deep with Schmitt.
A phenomenal moment in the Senate. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta. Smith denies it. Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury. Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland. Watch the whole thing:

Republican says Ohio Republican Party may have blown the election by anointing Vivek Ramaswamy as gubernatorial nominee so early Of course, when Donald Trump endorses, what do you expect a state party to do?
I’m going to say something a lot of Republicans probably don’t want to hear. I think Vivek Ramaswamy is going to lose the Ohio governor’s race. And I don’t think it will be because Ohio suddenly stopped being conservative. I think it will be because Ohio’s Republican leadership made a mistake by trying to pick the governor before Ohio Republicans ever got to vote. The Ohio Republican Party endorsed Vivek nearly a year before the primary. That should bother conservatives, regardless of who they support. We believe in elections. We believe voters should have a choice. We believe the people not party insiders should decide who represents them. You don’t get to complain about the political establishment while benefiting from the establishment deciding the race before the primary even happens. Then there’s COVID. Vivek has made Amy Acton (not sticking up for her) and Ohio’s COVID response a major part of his campaign. Fine. Republicans have every right to criticize the decisions made during COVID. I certainly have my own criticisms. But here’s the part people need to remember. Vivek was involved in Ohio’s COVID response in 2020. He worked with the DeWine administration as an adviser and participated in discussions about Ohio’s response. And when it comes to the 2020 primary being postponed, Mike DeWine has said repeatedly that decision was his. So blaming Amy Acton for everything while conveniently leaving out the Republican governor who was actually in charge and leaving out his own involvement in the administration’s COVID response doesn’t exactly scream accountability. Conservatives shouldn’t have one standard for Democrats and another for Republicans. If someone wants to run on accountability, then their own record should be fair game too. This isn’t personal. It’s politics. And I think Ohio voters are going to look at the whole picture. The early endorsement. The attempt to make the primary feel like a formality. The COVID record. The attacks on “heritage Americans” as a way to make us less than. Ohio Republicans aren’t stupid. They don’t need the party to tell them who to vote for. They don’t need Washington to tell them. And they sure don’t need a coronation. They need a choice. I believe Vivek is going to find out the hard way that winning an endorsement is not the same thing as winning the confidence of Ohio voters. The primary belongs to the voters. Not the party. Not the consultants. Not the insiders. The voters. And that’s exactly how it should be.

For the last 1.5 years, the Ohio House Medicaid Committee has been working to protect the taxpayer while serving our most vulnerable citizens. As a member of this committee, I can attest that especially over the past few weeks, both sides of the aisle have been working together to honestly find policies to eliminate fraud, waste, & abuse. Last week, Speaker Huffman added three members of leadership to the Medicaid Committee. These three have taken over the process from the chair, and yesterday they presented a 177-page substitute bill that had been released just a few hours before committee began. This was an ambush! Turns out, the details of this sub bill has provisions in it that totally blow up Medicaid in Ohio and will have the exact opposite effect of what we have been working towards. Last General Assembly we had a rule that required all amendments and sub bills to be available by midnight the day before adopted (The Cinderella Rule). This rule gave some time for amendments to be read; however, this rule was eliminated in this GA. The result has been that time and time again, members have been forced to take votes before seeing the bill, and then only later getting the details. Yesterday, leadership hid the ball again, and in doing so, left the original members of the committee who weren’t part of crafting the sub bill holding the bag. This is the latest example of the style of leadership the Ohio House is under.—do what we say or else. Believe me, I know firsthand! And most unfortunately, this trick yesterday probably wasted an opportunity to truly protect the taxpayer. We were on a path to make major and positive reforms to Medicaid in Ohio to weed out Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; however, now with this sub bill and the way it was handled, how can we trust what we are being told by leadership? Simply put, we cannot. Oh, and to be clear, I’m a “No” on this SubBill.
