@Evan_Low If you're willing to think about Foreign Drive's License Reciprocity AB639, I've spent much of this year trying to convince my rep+senator to try again. I've gathered data about uptake rate from Washington state, with an FOIA request pending in Virginia for more.

If there are supporters or backers you worked with who wouldn't mind being put in touch, I'd love to speak with them. I am still not certain my rep or senator will actually submit text, but they are at least aware of it.

@Evan_Low In particular if you had contacts or constituents who could speak to the likelihood of an agreement with South Korea or Taiwan, both of which sign such agreements with other states, that would be welcome. I think I have a contact for Germany already.

@Evan_Low I wish you well in future endeavors and thank you for your effort on Foreign Driver's License reciprocity in the last few sessions. I'm advocating to try again. If able, is there someone interested you could suggest I contact about authoring a bill in upcoming session?

@Evan_Low I've sent letters to my congresspeople, plus Rep. Sharon Quirk-Silva, Sen. Scott Wiener, Sen. Steven Choi, Rep. Luz Rivas — anyone I can find who co-authored or supported prior bills, trying to encourage a new bill.

@Evan_Low If you're able to handle thinking about this topic, I can be reached at [email protected] If you need space and distance, I apologize for reaching out and thank you for your efforts of the last few years.

"This is what they told us Y2K was going to be like. #crowdstrike " Every mention of Y2K now makes me sad. That was an enormous threat which, through will, money, and effort, we resolved, and solved it well enough that people mostly didn't notice.

Federalist Paper 77: "...from [the President] being at all times liable to impeachment, trial, dismission from office, incapacity to serve in any other, and to forfeiture of life and estate by subsequent prosecution in the common course of law." #federalistpaper77

There is an art to being a Dad. Something which can be practiced, and learned. A Dad-craft. Or "Daft" as we Dads like to call it.

Anything related to eyewear is heavily SEOd and I'm having trouble finding. I'm seeking an optician on the San Francisco Peninsula w/ Zeiss lenses + frames that are not Luxottica (ideally titanium, but also nice metal/acrylic designs like ic! berlin) Any recommendations?

ICE ticket prices for July are already creeping up, so I have to figure out bahn.eurail.com/en/one-count… soon or buy individual tickets now. Our most important trip is Berlin -> Stuttgart, where we have time constraints.

I think we can buy a Eurail Germany pass, use it to book the Berlin->Stuttgart seats well in advance, and then use it for the rest of the trip with more flexibility in which trains we take. Being able leave in the morning/afternoon/whatever based on how the day is going is nice.

Searching for an address in Germany, Google Maps cannot find: Löbensteinstraße 16 but can find: Loebensteinstrasse 16 Google, I am silently judging you.

I updated the email address with the health plan provider to be a personal address, but of course authorizing the app still sends a code to the work email that I can no longer access. Of course.

Current status: planning trip to Germany. I'm having the most trouble with where to stay. There will be five of us: we two parents, and our kids 19, 15, and 15. Hotel suites with zwei schlafzimmer do not appear to be a thing? I cannot get reasonable search results.

In a 1942 German marriage record of our grand aunt, “Angaben über die Ehegatten” (declaration of nationality) has "German" crossed out with: ab 1.7..38 ungültig July 1, 1938 invalid Why might that be? They are all listed as Lutheran, no other indication of what this might mean.

The obvious assumption is one of the Nazi descent laws. All persons are listed as Lutheran, and no other indication of why their assertion of German nationality is crossed out. I cannot find a law or other significant event on July 1, 1938.
