Endlessly inspiring. The possibilities are expanding rapidly
People who cured / are curing their own cancer on X:
1/ @sytses - bone cancer, billionaire founder of Gitlab, developed 10+ personalized therapies for himself.
2/ @paul_conyngham - shrank his dog Rosie's mast cell cancer tumors after chemo and surgery weren't enough. Now backed by YC and Founders Fund
3/ @miriamgonp - stage 4 breast cancer, tumor sequenced, searching for vaccine manufacturer now
4/ @kevinace - stage 4 lung cancer, angel investor in 300+ companies, first drug stopped working after 18 months. Vaccine designed, now paying $300k out of pocket for the vaccine
5/ @masonbgrant: going founder mode on his his 32-year-old wife's rare liver cancer, sequencing her tumor with AI agents
6/ @ArunRLverma: former product leader at Atoms and Shopify, brain tumor, built a vaccine from his tumor. Now building an AI health agent startup based on what he went through
We're going to make it
I remember as a young Barça-fan reading about this young phenomenon coming through the ranks. The excitement when he debuted. The ecstasy of his exploding career. Crying when he left the club. Perhaps a little selfish but football is also tied into life, the imminent finale also becomes a story about our own mortality, nothing lasts forever. Messi 💙❤️
The constant decel messaging in Europe is insufferable as an adult, but its effect on kids is worse. As a parent, it's your obligation to counterprogram this nonsense. Show them robots, rockets, and wonders of AI. Show them cathedrals and moon landings. Instill hope in progress.
Very moving
Duncan Trussell recorded this conversation with his mother while she was facing terminal cancer.
What you’re hearing isn’t scripted. It isn’t performed. It’s a son sitting with his dying mother trying to hold onto every word before the words run out.
And she, the one facing the end, is the one doing the comforting.
That is what makes these conversations so extraordinary. Not the wisdom itself, as profound as it is. But who it’s coming from. A woman who had every reason to be consumed by her own fear choosing instead to spend what little time remained helping her son understand how to live without her.
These recordings became the heart of The Midnight Gospel. And I always go back to watch it again.
They remain some of the most honest conversations about death, love and what it means to be human ever put on screen…
I think this is clever. Increasingly building in this way, with knowledge blocks combined in various ways. Makes it easier to switch out one thing, upgrade, divide, use specialised agents on one element etc.
There's a lot to talk about with Elyx, so let’s start with a big idea that underpins pretty much everything else: Your project is the unit of design, not your document.
Elyx works best when your designs start small and build up. Individual components combine to become blocks, blocks combine to become screens. You bring screens together to form flows. Everything lives in its own file.
You can import any .elyx file into another. It makes building designs in this modular way easier and more logical. Changes you make to one .elyx file cascade to anywhere else you import them.
Over time, working like this builds a living, breathing home for your decision. Everything stays up to date, and everything stays right alongside (and in sync with) your code.
We’re just scratching the surface here, and we’ve got plenty more to share with you.
Intelligence scales without limit now. Human working memory doesn’t. Starting to feel like I need one of these. I want the focus of ia Writer, intelligence in the bg prioritising, keeping overview, gathering threads, preparing. Overview, project view, single elements view. Magically granulated, not by me. A single entry point where I throw everything in and it structures it for me. A rally co-driver. Exo skeleton. Context for my work not just tasks. And optimised for one, not for teams.
Fruit fly brain → Drone
Bat brain → autonomous navigation robot
Rat brain → exploration
Octopus brain → multi-arm robot
Ant brain → Swarm robots
Human brain → ?
166,700 fruit fly neurons are flying a drone around a bedroom right now.
One camera watches an open hand. That's the entire input. The panel in the middle is the brain itself, running live, 166,700 neurons and 25 million connections, the full reconstructed wiring of a fruit fly's head.
The camera reads the hand, the brain fires, the output becomes throttle. Open palm and it climbs. Fist and it holds. Drop the hand and it comes down.
Four propellers the size of a coin, hanging off a nervous system that used to belong to an insect.
Here's the honest part. This isn't a resurrected fly. It's a computational model built from real biological wiring, bridged to a drone the builder made themselves. What nobody wrote is the flight logic. No PID tuning, no gesture presets, no code telling it how to hold altitude. They gave the neurons somewhere to send a signal, and it found the ceiling on its own.
Eleven seconds in, it's holding altitude by itself.
The fly is dead. It's still flying.
“Within our lifetime, engineers will go from bricklayers to architects, focusing on the creativity of designing systems rather than the manual labor of putting them together.” (design is moving in the same direction)

Ass Bench Update 🚨
After running GPT 6 Astra in a loop for the past week, with a couple of steers a day, we have officially reached high-fidelity cheeks.
I’m going to let this thing run in a self-improving cycle for as long as I can and see where the ass technology ends up in a month.
Lots of different butt styles will be added, so no one is safe.
Not even you, Granny.
You’ll also be able to support the project and help fund the benching of other models like Fable, Gemini, etc.
All it takes is a buck, and you can slap your sticker + website directly onto a cheek.
The future of AI benchmarking is here
