Thereโ€™s a problem with the future of crypto that I think deserves more attention. The cryptography protecting our assets today could eventually become vulnerable to powerful quantum computers. And when that happens, upgrading security wonโ€™t be as simple as flipping a switch. Entire networks will have to figure out how to make that transition. But @QuantusNetwork is taking a different approach by building a blockchain with post-quantum cryptography at its foundation.

Quite a lot has happened in AI over the past few days, from new model upgrades to surprising developments in scientific research. Hereโ€™s a quick recap of the stories you might have missed. 1. DeepSeek upgrades V4.1 Flash DeepSeek released an updated version of V4.1 Flash, improving its coding and project-building capabilities. The company reported these benchmark improvements over the previous version: โžค Terminal-Bench 4.0: 31.2 โ†’ 42.3 โžค DeepSWE v1.1: 74.2 โ†’ 77.0 โžค ProgramBench: 20.3 โ†’ 29.1 The update also improves the model's ability to build projects such as 3D scenes and games. 2. Meta releases Muse Spark Open Meta released Muse Spark Open, an open weight AI model that can work with text, images, video and audio. It is designed for coding and complex tasks, with a 1 million token context window for handling large amounts of information. 3. Claude designs more efficient quantum circuits Anthropic used Claude Mythos 5 to design quantum circuits that perform certain calculations more efficiently. The company reported that one design made a costly step in a quantum optimisation algorithm about 12 times cheaper. 4. Mistral introduces Timestral @MistralAI released Timestral, AI models that predict future trends from historical data, such as energy demand and financial activity. The models are designed to deliver fast forecasts without requiring expensive GPUs. 5. Anthropic announces Public Benefit Fund Anthropic plans to commit 5% of its shares to a new Public Benefit Fund, subject to shareholder approval. The fund will support public-benefit initiatives through grants and potential direct distributions. 6. Google develops AI agents for laboratory experiments Google is developing AI agents that work with robotic lab equipment to run experiments, analyse results and refine their next attempts. The goal is to help researchers test scientific ideas faster, with human scientists still overseeing the process. 7. OpenAI commits $5M to AI assisted mathematics research OpenAI is contributing $5 million to a Simons Foundation initiative supporting mathematicians using AI. The funding will help researchers verify AI generated mathematical results and build on discoveries with access to AI models and computing resources. 8. Meta faces backlash over website scraping terms On October 17, Meta removed terms that raised concerns about using content from external websites to train its AI systems. Meta said the change did not affect how it collects website data. This raises a key question: should public content be free to use for AI training? Thatโ€™s all for now. Talk soon.
From new AI models to security risks and powerful new chips, here are eight important AI developments from the past few days. 1. OpenAI discovers a hidden recording device OpenAI found a sophisticated recording device hidden inside one of its offices. The company used its AI models to investigate the device and identify an employee who had planted it days earlier. OpenAI referred the matter to the FBI, which made an arrest. The employee was terminated and OpenAI said it had no indications that its model weights, source code or customer data had been improperly accessed or extracted. 2. Google launches Gemini 4 Argon Google has launched Gemini 4 Argon, its flagship AI model for complex tasks such as coding, finance, legal work, science, and cybersecurity. But how does it compare with other leading models? Here are some results: โžค Overall performance: Argon scored 68.90%, ahead of Claude Sonnet 5.5 at 67.04% and Claude Opus 5.5 at 66.97%. โžค Finance: Argon ranked first among 78 models on the Finance Agent v2 benchmark, scoring 65.40%. โžค Building apps with AI: Argon scored 91.91% on Vibe Code Bench, but Claude Sonnet 5.5 performed slightly better at 92.39%. Argon is strong across several tasks, but it doesn't beat every competing model in every test. Google's introductory API pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. These rates are scheduled to double after November 30, 2026. 3. Meta introduces Muse Wonder models Meta has unveiled Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, two models designed to handle more complex tasks. Potential uses include handling insurance claims, understanding rental agreements and building apps. 4. Anthropic warns about potential AI self replication Anthropic has warned that smaller AI models could soon become capable of copying themselves across internet connected devices without needing large data centres. In its experiments, a model with 9 billion parameters successfully ran on eight of nine hardware types tested Anthropic warns that smaller models could reach this level by the end of 2026 if current progress continues. 5. AMD introduces Helion for AI agents AMD has introduced Helion, an open design for the computing systems needed to run AI agents. It allows companies to customise their CPU and GPU configurations and includes a token router that directs requests to different AI models. 6. Microsoft announces its Maia 300 AI chip Microsoft has announced Maia 300, its next-generation AI chip designed to run models and generate responses more efficiently. Have you ever copied a wallet address to send crypto, only to find yourself checking it over and over before hitting send? Honestly, one of the frustrating things about crypto is how much attention we have to pay to those long strings of letters and numbers just to make a transfer. Because one wrong character can mean losing your funds. Now imagine being able to share a name instead. That's what defi IDยฎ is about. With defi IDยฎ, you can use a readable name linked to your defi.com account, like "yourname.defi.com", instead of sharing a long wallet address. And it's not just for use inside defi.com. It works across most major wallets and apps, making it easier to share your name wherever you use crypto. Every name is unique, held in your own account, and transferable. Names must be 3โ€“12 characters long and can contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Of course, getting a defi IDยฎ is optional. Your defi.com account still works fully without one. Personally, I like the idea of making something as common as sharing a wallet address less stressful. Crypto already has enough things to figure out without making every transfer feel like a spelling test. So, what name would you choose as your defi IDยฎ? For me, I'd be going for calina.defi.com. Let's hear yours in the comments! Get Early Access: defi.com/?ref=6ADahVhtlh

Now try paying $7 for mobile data with that same money. No exchange. No bank. No ID check. Good luck. That is the weird gap in crypto right now. Sending money is a solved problem. Spending it is not. About 741 million people own crypto, and for most of them, turning a wallet balance into something useful still means a bank, an exchange and a verification form standing in the way. @GoFiCash launched this month to shrink that gap. You connect your own wallet, and it turns your stablecoins into three things: travel eSIM data, virtual phone numbers and a prepaid card. In this thread I will walk through each one, show how the prices compare, and tell you where I would be careful. Take it one product at a time.

One thing crypto still needs is more businesses that actually accept it as payment. @PaynexisLabs is building toward that, with on-chain payments and tools that let merchants sell digital products and services. Think about the current on-chain experience. A creator sells a course, a developer offers API access, or a business wants to sell digital products. The moment payment enters the picture, merchants may need to piece together wallets, checkout tools, delivery systems, and transaction verification. Paynexis is building toward a different model: connect a crypto wallet, pay with supported digital assets, and let the infrastructure handle the transaction and digital product fulfillment. Its planned toolkit includes wallet-based payments, a no-code merchant dashboard, automated delivery of digital goods, on-chain proof of purchase, and settlement without a separate platform transaction fee beyond network fees, according to its project materials. The initial focus is Robinhood Chain, with ETH and USDC among the intended supported assets. The bigger idea is worth paying attention to: Paynexis is positioning itself at that intersection of crypto payments and digital commerce. The opportunity is real, but execution will determine whether the vision becomes useful infrastructure or remains another promising whitepaper. ๐Ÿงต

What if you could access exposure to US housing credit onchain, starting with just 1 USDC.....?๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ Thatโ€™s the idea behind @NUVAFinance NUVA HOME: bringing real-world credit into the onchain ecosystem through exposure to a managed portfolio of housing loans, with a 7.0% target policy rate and a built-in first-loss buffer. The interesting part is the accessibility. Connecting traditional housing credit with onchain infrastructure opens up a different way for global participants to explore real-world asset opportunities without needing a large starting amount. Of course, a target yield is not a promise. The initial vault cap is $12M, and neither yield nor principal is guaranteed by Figure. Real-world credit, onchain access, and a model worth understanding. Explore the NUVA HOME launch and do your own research before participating.

You spend two hours getting an AI agent to understand your codebase. Your conventions. Your decisions. Why you picked MongoDB over Postgres. Why auth uses Google OAuth and not email/password. Close the tab. Open a new session tomorrow. It remembers none of it. This is not a small annoyance. It is the single biggest tax on using AI agents seriously right now. Every session starts from zero, and every zero costs you the same two hours again. The fix people reach for first, a bigger context window, does not actually solve this. Here is why, and what actually does. @LighthouseWeb3 ๐Ÿงต
