Almost nobody can afford to wait for oil right now.
That is why the cost of shipping 2 million barrels from West Africa to China jumped by several dollars again yesterday to $33 per barrel.
Look at the chart and compare this move with the shock in March and April.

BREAKING: Iran has reportedly sent a seven-day proposal through Qatari mediators to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if the U.S. lifts its blockade, according to CBS.
- Negotiations are now said to be entering a more technical phase
- The Qatari state-owned network reported that technical experts have joined the negotiations in New York
- The Iranian delegation reportedly faced an initial delay in securing U.S. visas, but the approvals were granted quickly enough for the team to participate in the talks
Some details here that makes this version of a deal sound potentially more credible, the problem is if the US rejects all their terms like we did in June, can a deal actually still get done soon?

BREAKING: Iran directly rejects the Reuters report claiming that US and Iranian negotiators are exploring a phased path out of the war, saying the report is "false and its goal is to control the price of oil," and that "no negotiations are underway," per Iranian state media journalist Mohammad Ghaderi.
He says Iran's position remains unchanged and that the US "must fulfill the stipulated conditions in a single step so that the Strait of Hormuz can be opened under Iranian control."
Brent crude oil fell 3% on the Reuters report.

France is running out of fuel. 11% of France's stations nationwide are now out of petrol or diesel, one in nine, with 16% of stations short in Grand Est, 15% in Pays de la Loire, 14% in Occitanie, and 13% in Centre-Val de Loire, per government figures published this morning.

this talk of “running out” of diesel is THE madness. the U.S. is sitting on 4.08 BILLION gallons of (<15ppm) distillates today, which is up from 4.05 billion a wk ago. just bc a few stations have issues does not mean a nationwide crisis is brewing. now sit down & relax plz.
