Birthright citizenship cannot be undone by an executive order. Read the Constitution folks.

This hell site is making us all stupid. Trump doesn't have the ability to revoke the EEO (1972) or title VII of the civil rights act (1964). He rolled back Executive Order 11246 of 1965 which while shitty, only applies to federal contractors.

So many assignment formats are now unavailable options because of AI. I have tried to keep discussion boards going. But, alas, RIP. No more.

No, the president is NEVER above the law. If there is doubt about that, the United States of America already ceases to exist.

I had the honor of working with Jessica and NCHE this week & loved meeting fellow Kansas teachers! Thanks for your hard work everyday to integrate our collective histories into your classrooms and thank you to @historyed for your dedication to truth. ❤️
History teachers, your resilience in guiding students through complex, emotional times like elections is invaluable. Keep fostering truth, democracy, and compassion. We’re in this together.

My students are exploring the experiences of Chinese immigrants in the West after the Exclusion Act in my Gilded Age class today ... so fun to highlight @drjagodinsky and her amazing Petitioning for Freedom Project! @UNLHistory @DigLegalRschLab #habeascorpus

1/2 "What ought...women to do with their lives? Each one ought to be devoting herself to the comfort of some man. You may say, they are not married. But I answer, let them try a littler harder and they might find some kind of a man to devote themselves to...

What does the Bible say on this subject? It says, 'Seek and ye shall find.' Besides, when I look around me at the men; I feel that God never meant us women to be too particular." Marie Jenney Howe, 1913

Rousseau about sex, 1762: "The Most High has . . . endowed man with boundless passions, together with a law to guide them, so that man may be alike free and self-controlled; though swayed by these passions man is endowed with reason by which to control them." #rape

I have not the frame of mind to reread Rousseau this morning, though I must. I might just puke up my doughnuts...I'm sure that would have charmed the pants right off him.

I have decided that, as a woman, the first half of your life is learning how to multitask. The second part of your life is about learning how to focus on one thing at a time.

In the #metoo era, sexual assault policies are rooted in 19th-century laws and customs. @Devilnrae2 draws a compelling link between past and present, pointing to unexpected local #archives for important legal history research. clioandthecontemporary.com/2…

Male office humor from the 1960s? Not funny. Just leaves me shaking my head. Found inside a WWII book published in 1969.

While simultaneously moving and cataloging my book collection, I found this gem in the 1969 Furnas text . . . you just never know what you'll find when you open the pages of a real book! And still a good question ... "are we civilized"?

Old history texts, unique, and antiquated. Tgus one from 1898. Makes one wonder how future generations will judge us and our writing.
