This is the most Gen Z thing I have ever heard.
Chet Holmgren on playing bottom-tier teams in the regular season:
“You don't get extra excited to play a tanking team in December. A lot of times you're like, ‘F---. Why don't we just get a f---ing night off instead of having to play [this team].”

Could I interest you in one Jake Burger? No? How about we throw in another Jake as in Junis?
The #Mariners are opening to moving RHP Emerson Hancock in their search for a right-handed hitter, per @Ken_Rosenthal and @WillSammon
Nobody wants to stay, fight through adversity and build something. They just want to take shortcuts. Lebron is the prime example of that.
Don’t do this. Stay. Dig in. Plant roots. Sometimes the long way is the better way. This can apply to almost everything in life.
LeBron James says that teaming up with other stars isn’t cheating.
“It’s no different from someone in business going from one place to the next place, because they get a better opportunity to be around better people. In sports, sometimes people get so caught up in ‘He should do this on his own.’ I don’t play tennis and I don’t play golf. The way I grew up is, we’ve got to do this together as a team.”

This guy is such an insufferable hypocrite. Sold the team for a bunch of money which led to the trade of the most talented player this franchise has ever seen and won’t just shut his mouth and go away. Dirk carried him for his entire tenure as owner.
Mark Cuban says the NBA has shifted from passionate owners who loved the game and connected with players to business-minded investors who run teams more like corporations than passion projects 👀

Mark Cuban Explains The Business of Owning an NBA Team
Your loyalty shouldn’t be to the owner and the front office, it should be to the fans who pay your salary by coming to your games and buying your jersey. Those are the ones whose heart gets broken when you leave.
I don’t fully, but partially agree. Youth sports is good for physical and mental development. You learn a lot of good life lessons. However, too many parents think their kid is going pro and take it way too seriously.
In the human sense, yes, working on Christmas sucks. However I think the guy making $15/hr working on Christmas would take exception to the guy making millions to play a game complaining about playing on Christmas.
Draymond Green says playing on Christmas ‘f*cking sucks’ and that it can affect your mood 😳
“Playing on Christmas Day also f*cking sucks. And the reason it sucks is, number one, what I—what I just said, uh, it can affect your mood. Number two, we are human beings and, just like everyone else, enjoy Christmas Day with our families. That kinda gets messed up for us. Um, they’re in their homes or on vacation with their families, makin’ memories. We don’t—we don’t get that opportunity. So I hate when people are like, ‘Oh man, it’s an honor to play on Christmas Day.’ People should shut up. Like, no—you should shut up, because whether you played on Christmas Day or not, I don’t—I don’t really care about the perspective.”

AD, Max Christie and a 2029 unprotected 1st?
Again, unless you live here and understand the culture, how Dirk passed the torch to the next guy who was ready to spend his career here, you cant fully understand the effect Nico had on this fanbase. This goes way beyond wins and losses.
This is your first sign of someone who doesn’t live in the area and isn’t immersed in the day to day culture of the team. Firing Nico was more about making peace with the fanbase than it was the roster or W’s and L’s. There was no other possible outcome!
Honestly, I think the Mavericks panicked and fired Nico Harrison too quickly. I know they started 3-8, but their best players Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, and Dereck Lively are injured. I think they should’ve given them a chance to come back and play together this year, and then make a decision in the offseason.
The only thing that would reinvigorate the Mavericks fanbase right now would be Nico getting fired.
At this point, you have no choice but to tear it down and start from scratch with Coop. Maybe keep Max and PJ. Trade everyone else. Collect picks. Try to get lucky again.
Politics are so lame. Both sides are willing to flip their views on something, so long as it fits their narrative. Now the left is all about free speech and the right is all about censorship.
