The pandemic will end. Current cases/deaths spike is the result of naive immune systems meeting SARS-CoV-2. Once enough # of people have gained immunity through vaccination or infection, virus will be endemic. It won’t be eliminated, but it won’t be as devastating as it is now.

Almost 8 years later, my findings on HIV drug resistance have been found to be consistent with a HIV protease mutant that is resistant to the antiviral drug, Darunavir. Simple joys of a scientist. 😊 References: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article… ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…

A follow up to one of my previous projects at Scripps Research has just been published in the American Chemical Society journal, J Med Chem. Here, 12 compounds have been assessed for binding to a drug target for Parkinson’s/Alzheimer’s called Nurr1. Link: bit.ly/3m8nf9n

I thought this is the year I’ll achieve all my goals and dreams. Instead, 2020 taught me to appreciate everything I have, most especially my loving family. HAPPY THANKSGIVING, everyone! Let’s thank God for the lesson in humility.
