Hon'ble Union Minister @DrJitendraSingh, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry for Science & Technology announced India's first Engineering Biology undergraduate programme and launched the roadmap, "Building India as a Leading Bioeconomy Powerhouse by 2035."
The roadmap outlines a strategic vision to accelerate AI-driven biology, biomanufacturing, talent development, innovation, and industry partnerships, strengthening India's journey towards becoming a global bioeconomy leader.
Engineering Biology will equip a future-ready workforce to drive breakthroughs in healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.

Delivering the keynote address at the launch of the Roadmap on "Building India as a Leading Bioeconomy Powerhouse by 2035," @DrJitendraSingh, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Science & Technology, highlighted India's remarkable transformation into one of the world's fastest-growing bioeconomies.
He emphasized that with pioneering achievements in vaccines, genomics, gene therapies, biomanufacturing, and biotechnology innovation, India is not merely participating in the global biotechnology revolution but is helping shape it.
Stressing the importance of public-private partnerships, mission-driven innovation, and a robust startup ecosystem, he reaffirmed the Government's commitment to accelerating research, strengthening biomanufacturing, fostering entrepreneurship, and positioning India among the world's leading biotechnology powers.
The roadmap marks a significant step towards realizing the vision of a biotechnology-powered Viksit Bharat, driving economic growth, sustainable development, and global leadership in the emerging BioCentury.

Electricity consumption apx 30 units/month till feb’24 rose to 300 units/mnth? Bill per month 5k PER PERSON? For a SHARING room having 1 AC that only works for a few hrs coz mostly we’re in lab.
Per unit 13.65Rs higher than commercial rates in govt hostel facility!

Similarly, faculties staying on campus are also charged Rs. 13.65/unit, for domestic household consumption. Which is much higher compared to the electricity rate in Faridabad.

While PhD in India is considered as a training process NOT AS JOB and at the same time will be charged a hefty electricity bills (apx Rs. 5000 per month and additional 32-35 thousands rupees per year as academic fees! Lots of reason to have sleepless night followed by failed exp
