I always thought this friend should've been part of the collection, so here it is. this is the start of the digital side of IF. a place to experiment and try things I can't do anywhere else. The Walk will be a way to get access to some of what the brand puts out, digital and physical. not everything. most of IF is being built for everyone, but if you want in early on certain drops this is how. a lot of you have asked about the leftover physicals. this is part of that. I wanted to do it free for everyone but it would've just been botted. $5 keeps it for people who actually want one, want to support and lets me give stuff away easier for burning them. there's a lot more coming from the Invisible Friends brand.
The most recognized Invisible Friend was never actually minted. Until now. The Walk. October 28. Free for every Invisible Friend holder. 24 hour open edition on @OpenSea for everyone else, $5. Built with @manifoldxyz

Some say that Abstract is "being responsible" by not launching a token with no pmf. But for years users spent real money on XP with the promise of a token. And these promises helped moon PENGU. Of which the team sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth. Compensate these people.
Luca Netz made me lose faith in Web3. I was on Abstract from day one. I never stopped believing because Luca was behind it, and I trusted his promises. I spent around $40–50K and dedicated nearly two years of my life to it. We were promised a token. They kept our hopes alive until the very end, only to tell us we would receive nothing for the Xp we had earned. After all that time, money, and trust, I feel scammed by @LucaNetz I won’t stay silent

PSA knows exactly what’s coming. 📈 Back in late 2023, they made a massive strategic move by appointing elite collector Nido Ashtar instagram.com/nidouken as their Director of Pop Culture Growth. The message from corporate is loud and clear: they are aggressively expanding grading infrastructure for vintage video games, non-sports TCGs, and other 90s nostalgia. They see the writing on the wall. High-grade video games and non-sports IPs are the absolute future of collecting.

They used to make anything before video games started needing venture capital money just to start production
When 50 Cent made his own video game in 2005 and Eminem played a detective😭

"I don't mind trans people, I just don't want their existence shoved down my throat" Brother, it's conservatives shoving trans people down your throat. They can't shut the fuck up about them. It's every political podcast, rally, and advertisement. It's all they think about.

i’m glad there’s increasing discussion around this. everyone likes to say “young people on their phones” but frankly everyone else is getting cooked worse. zoomers are doing a good job at going analog etc

Hideo Kojima says people who have never played Death Stranding but call it "a walking simulator" are proof that social media can form hivemind narratives. He finds it "scary" that AI may one day shield people from being exposed to differing opinions. videogameschronicle.com/news…

Netflix wants to lead culture, but its obsession w/ data means waiting for audiences to validate show before committing to more. Then we get 18 months between seasons. Sorry. Can't lead culture by waiting for it to tell you where to go.

Palantir's merch feels like the endpoint in streetwear's evolution, which started with young kids in urban areas — mostly ethnic minorities from low-income families — creating their own style from the ground up. Over time, that aesthetic was co-opted by luxury brands seeking "authenticity." And now, by a surveillance company seeking cultural capital. Streetwear used to be an aesthetic defined by the ground-up by people were disempowered in political and economic life, but engaged in actual street culture. Now it's an aesthetic dictated from the top down by giant corporations with no conenction to such cultures. And used by political and economic elites who want to appear as outsiders.
