We’re excited to announce Bubunyo Nyavor (@KiddBubu) as a speaker at SysConf 2026!
His talk is titled “Building a Multi-Tenant Dev Environment.”
Upvest, where Bubunyo works, runs 150+ services, and many tests need to interact with a big portion of them. At one time, all these tests, from multiple engineers and teams, used one shared environment. As you might expect, it produced an unstable environment and results that weren’t trusted. But tests are important, and engineers need to be able to trust them.
To solve this, Bubunyo designed "worlds": disposable copies of the entire platform that share infrastructure but keep their data fully isolated. This talk walks through the technical challenges Bubunyo faced while building this, from designing isolation in Postgres and faking Secret Manager to building a proxy for Kafka.
#SysConf #SysConf26

ALT Bubunyo is a Senior Platform Engineer at Upvest. Previously, he was a Senior Software Engineer at Adjust GmbH, where his team was responsible for improving the performance and reliability of services that ingested 900K+ messages per second. He is also an Administrator at DevCongress, a developer community in Ghana.
