Etihad threatening to sue. UAE reportedly intimating that UK investment could be pulled. A Prime Minister couching any criticisism. If this sorry saga doesn't convince you that state ownership of football clubs should never be allowed, nothing ever will.
Funny as fuck watching @etihad implicate themselves in City's fraud.
Like... No one mentioned you. Except you.
Didn't even think of it but now you mention it. Yeah I reckon your guilty as fuck as well.

Well i could cheat 114 times,
And I could cheat 114 more,
Just to be the team that cheats 114 times,
And get relegated down the leagues to be seen no more.
Bah da ba da.

It will never stop being astounding that a bunch of men said “we are women!” and a bunch of people, including those in government, said “ok!” and then demonized any woman who said “well this is obviously bullsh-t.”
We all knew that though right

🚨NEW: Our critique of a major "brain sex" study is now published.
@AdamRochussen, @NeuroSGS, and I evaluate a central premise of gender activism and medicine: that trans-identifying people have brains that are shifted away from their sex and toward their "gender identity."
The "brain sex" concept is so central because it purports to provide an empirical scientific basis for the notion that a child can be "born in the wrong body" and would therefore benefit from body-altering medical procedures to align their body with their mind/brain.
The problem is that this concept is pure pseudoscience and propped up by deeply flawed methods and badly misinterpreted data.
One of the most prominent studies is Kurth et al. (2022), published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, which claimed that the brains of transgender women are shifted away from their sex and toward their "gender identity." The paper became one of the journal’s most accessed articles and has been cited in major media outlets, scientific papers, legal arguments, and policy discussions involving pediatric gender medicine and sports.
We point out that the paper's headline conclusion rests on a series of serious methodological problems.
Each group contained only 24 participants. The authors used poorly justified parametric methods, one-tailed post hoc tests, made no correction for multiple comparisons, and omitted important robustness checks. Once accounted for, the main finding is no longer statistically significant.
An even more glaring failure of the study was that it failed to account for sexual orientation, despite its known association with neuroanatomical variation and despite the authors having the relevant participant data needed to examine it!
We each repeatedly requested the anonymized participant-level data from the paper's lead author so we could independently evaluate the findings.
We received no response.
The evidence simply does not justify the sweeping "brain sex" conclusion for which this study has become famous.
Our full critique in @Theory_Society is open access. Read it at the link below, and please cite it and share it whenever you encounter the false claim that trans people have brains that more closely resemble the sex they identify than their own sex.

Well done @DaleJohnsonBBC for a great piece about Neville and his anger grift approach to United.
Our running stats from last season under Carrick where about the same. So if it's not the running, that means @GNev2 is wrong... again.
Using United to enrich himself. Again.

Imagine a group of powerful, well-connected anorexics gather and formulate a plot to reject the psychiatric framing of anorexia and turn their illness into a healthy identity.
They make it discrimination and bigotry to call anorexia a mental disorder and frame access to liposuction and Ozempic as medically necessary and a human right.
The whole world goes along with this.
In the field of anorexia-affirming care, an anorexic receives immediate affirmation of her anorexic identity and unfettered access to the weight-loss medical treatments that her disorder demands.
No psychotherapeutic attempt is made to loosen the grip of the belief.
Then, instead of measuring success by objective outcomes such as physical health and quality of life, researchers in the field opt for self-report: in other words, after giving the anorexic the very treatments that her disorder compels her to seek, the researchers ask her if she is happy.
When she says yes, this confirms that Ozempic and liposuction are beneficial and appropriate treatments for anorexia.
That is the medical world’s current approach to managing the trans phenomenon.
