Apple's first generation just destroyed Samsung's eighth. Look at this and try to defend the Fold with a straight face.
8 years Samsung had. 8 generations. Billions in R&D. And Apple showed up once and made it all look like a rough draft.
The crease. The glitches. The apps that still don't scale right. Samsung fans defended all of it for years. Now they have to look at the Duo and explain why they paid $1800 eight times for a phone Apple got right on day one.
Follow, Samsung's response to this is going to be embarrassing and I'll post it the second it drops.
iPhone Duo is making every foldable before it look like a prototype.
Samsung spent 8 years selling beta tests for $1800. Apple walked in, dropped one phone, and ended the conversation.
No crease. No glitches. No dead pixels after 6 months. Just a foldable that works like a phone should.
Samsung did it first. Apple did it right. That's always how it goes.

This iPhone Duo lock screen animation is exactly why android will never catch up to Apple. sure someone could copy it in two hours, but for 8 years nobody in the android world has even thought to try. that's the real gap.

This is the only known prototype of Sega’s Venus handheld Mega Drive/Genesis, unveiled for the first time in a 2020 Sega history video by producer Hiroyuki Miyazaki.
It eventually shipped in North America as the Sega Nomad in 1995, with a totally different design and build.

Jogos de Nintendo Switch rodando nativamente no PC, sem emulação.
Suyo (fork do yuzu) chega na sua última versão 0.0.4, nela seu dev trouxe uma novidade, um modo de recompilador, que converte as instruções da CPU do Switch para código nativo x86-64.
No momento somente a CPU, a emulação de vídeo ainda é necessária rodando na backend (HLE).
Isso é um passo muito importante, para termos jogos de Switch rodando no PC nativamente!

SAMSUNGやAppleがリリースする折りたたみスマホを、私は「挑戦」だと思ってます
値段が高いとか無駄な機能とか否定的な意見を多か見るけど、ライト兄弟が飛行機を発明したときも、きっとそんな感じだったんじゃないかな
そして飛行機が実用化された時にライト兄弟を批判した人たちは自分が批判した事すら忘れて「便利なものだ」と言ったのだろう(心理学ではこの事を自己保存とか否認とかいうそうです。つまり整合性のない自己正当化)
たぶん折りたたみ式スマホにも生成AIにも、同じ心理行動が多くの人に起こると私は予想しています
もしも飛行機が実用化されなかったとしても、私は「面白い挑戦をした人がいたな」と思っただろう
ちなみに折りたたみ式スマホについて、私はスマートウォッチやVRくらいの温度感での普及にとどまり、すべてのスマホが折りたたみ式に変わるイノベーションにはならないと考えています
