Incredible CME, maybe superstorm on the Sun’s far side today—measuring over 3000 km/s, it will truly go down as one of the fastest CMEs ever measured. Had this been directed toward Earth, it probably would have arrived in just 14-16 hours. Most CMEs usually take around 3 days to get to Earth. The spot region associated for this blast will be perfectly Earth facing in about two weeks time—New Years Eve. Will it have fireworks for us?

It doesn't get much wilder than this. SOTs >5 across parts of SW Poland and the Czech Republic for the THU-MON period. People near rivers and even small streams in those areas should closely monitor updates and prepare for very heavy rain, #flooding and #impacts to infrastructure

Aktualizujeme informace k očekávaným srážkám.
Stále platí, že období od čtvrtka 12. 9. do neděle 15. 9. očekáváme velmi deštivé s výraznými srážkovými úhrny. Mezi modely panuje shoda, že na velké části území může napršet přes 100 mm, v exponovaných lokalitách (např. návětří Jeseníků) i výrazně více. V důsledku toho se předpokládají i výrazné vzestupy hladin vodních toků.
Během víkendu bude místy také větrno, což může způsobovat v kombinaci s podmáčeným terénem kromě polomů i vývraty stromů.
Situaci budeme s ohledem na potenciální výrazné dopady bedlivě sledovat a dále upřesňovat. Během zítřka je vysoce pravděpodobné vydání výstrahy s extrémním (nejvyšším) stupněm nebezpečí.
Z přiložených map aktuálních běhů 4 různých předpovědních modelů si lze udělat představu o možném úhrnu srážek za období čtvrtek až neděle (včetně).

Quake showing on Globalquake (similar to Jquake) as it rolled through the stations. It's early in experimental stages, so take info at caution. In this case though, it handled it well and close to offical agencies reports. Normally deep quakes have a few struggles, so impressive.

Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone: The structure of Daniel has improved over the last few hours. GFS phase space now shows a shallow-moderate symmetric warm core. Deep convection is still mainly confined to the northwestern quadrant of the LLC but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it fully wrap around the center before making landfall in Lybia within a couple of hours.

The waters around western Europe are exhibiting record-smashing warmth.
An extreme marine heatwave* near the UK and Ireland is seeing seas reach more than 8˚C above average for the time of year.
A marine heatwave (white stippling) also covers the coast of Spain, France, northern Italy, northern Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden — basically everywhere.
While it may feel nice to swim in the warmer water, the consequences of these events can reach far and wide.
*Marine heatwaves refer to sea surface temperatures that have been above the 90th percentile for the time of year for at least 5 days.
