It’s fine to eat the popcorn that rises above the top of the bag before the movie starts, that’s the Baron’s Delight. But you must be weary of digging too greedily into the popcorn inside the bag before the previews even end, that is the Duke’s Lament

Greta is making a Narnia movie for the people Narnia should always be for (atheist gays who grew up super Christian)
EXCLUSIVE 🪩
Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew is a rock inspired fantasy nodding to David Bowie and The Who.
“Narnia is literally a world made out of music,” she tells Empire. “Rock’n’roll to me felt like a world made out of music.”

M. Night Shyamalan’s new youtube account is like, miraculous so far. An absolute antidote to the numbing effect of most stuff online. Creatively inspiring and like, humanity-affirming. Wow.

Agree with every word of this
I'm basically repeating everything that's already been said, but it cannot be overstated how special TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA is. Not only is it a perfect encapsulation of the Hollywood slasher franchise, but it profoundly captures what it's like to hide the parts of yourself you're most scared people will judge you for, and what it costs to keep hiding. If you've ever felt othered, this film is going to hit somewhere specific. It doesn't ask you to explain yourself to be understood, it just lets you be seen. Not just with desire and sex, but with what makes you you, and the parts of you that feel forbidden shouldn't be carried with shame. It's an acceptance and a release. Genuinely in awe.

RE: Blue Heron and Camp Miasma discourse:
noticing a trend where audiences are wanting films (especially women and queer directed) to have the answers to the difficult topics they discuss.
sometimes a movie is just about an experience, filmmakers are ppl too

Then maybe you should make a movie about any of the other days of the year when it’s illegal to have sex
"One Night Only" director Will Gluck says it's "100%" true that Gen Z and Gen Alpha don’t want to see sex on screen:
"I went through this on two movies. I have long pages of empirical data about it. The only thing is I don’t think it’s just Gen Z and Gen Alpha. I believe it’s been a societal shift from taking nudity in adult situations and putting them on your phones at home for everybody. Now it’s more of a private, intimate thing that people don’t want to see when they’re in a shared experience. Whenever people now see nudity or very adult situations in a big theater, they get uncomfortable."

I had 24 hours to stop being mad at this movie after I saw it. Now I’m mad at this movie all over again.
