Kids can’t learn on an empty stomach. Supporting policies like universal school meals would not only make sure kids have the fuel they need to pay attention in the classroom, but would save every Iowa parent time and money each week.

The discussion between @ZachLahn and @RobSandIA on locally sourcing and providing free school meals is incredibly important, and I appreciate both candidates engaging on it. Lahn made some good points, but his talk of gutting education funding doesn't align with that.

NH state law means they are going to do what they are going to do. Also, as an Iowa Democrat, I won't be able to cast a legal vote in the Democratic Presidential Primary, so great job @DNC. Some key questions after reading the text of the steel mill bill: What protections are there for workers? What clawbacks are included? Will there be a PLA? The bill's language is murky about the parent company's involvement with a sanctioned Russian State Bank and whether that violates IEDA provisions. It also appears that tax credits would be paid out before the mill is built; the repayment language is "may," not "shall"; the tax credit is refundable and sellable. This seems far from a "done deal"
