He died dreaming of regular meat access. You have that access. You can walk into any supermarket and buy beef. No restrictions. No class barriers. No risk of execution. And you voluntarily choose oatmeal instead. You meal prep chicken breast and brown rice like you're cosplaying a medieval peasant on poverty rations. You Instagram your overnight oats like you're celebrating access to what your ancestors ate because they had no other choice. Your peasant ancestors ate gruel because meat was forbidden to their class. You eat gruel because a dietitian funded by the grain industry told you it was optimal. Stayed tall and strong into old age. Medieval peasants ate gruel and bread. Stayed short and weak their entire lives. Modern wealthy people eat meat liberally. Stay healthy and functional. Modern "health conscious" people eat gruel voluntarily. Develop the same nutritional deficiencies peasants had. The privilege your ancestors died without is freely available to you. And you're choosing poverty rations because someone convinced you they're superior. Somewhere in the afterlife, your great-great-great-great-grandfather is watching you eat overnight oats for breakfast and screaming. He spent his whole life wanting what you're refusing. This is the ultimate irony: We achieved the freedom to eat like nobility, and we're voluntarily eating like serfs.
