They had an interview with the Brewers Jake Bauers on MLB today. They were discussing watching the game. He said “we have a really smart team. We pride ourselves on watching the game.” I say “if you watch the game, you will never make the same mistake ONCE.” You learn from other people’s mistakes. There are a lot of distractions in the dugout. The iPad may be #1. Don’t get me wrong the iPad is valuable. You just need to find the right time to look at it & strike a balance between the iPad & watching the game.

The Brewers are the ultimate OUTLIER
When I was diving in on the game and pitching matchup yesterday I found this. This is a statistic of the average degree of the barrel of the bat at contact point for each team.
Everything to the left is pull side contact point. Everything to the right is opposite field contact point.
29 of the 30 teams are to the pull side.
There’s just one to the opposite field. The Milwaukee Brewers.
This is wild to me. And speaks volumes to their team approach. It means the ball is traveling deeper which has a ripple effect on everything else you’re trying to do as a hitter.
It allows you to recognize off speed for a split second longer. Spit on pitches down and away. Keep pitches fair that you’re normally pulling foul. Foul line to foul line approach.
The team with the best record in all of baseball is the ONLY team doing something. And they’re not even particularly close to any other teams. That’s pretty eye opening.
Also shoutout Twins. Turn and burn, baby.

Making his MLB debut hitting in the 3 hole for the Giants.
No Perfect Game Ranking.
Never Drafted.
Did not play D1 baseball.
Juco Bandit.
Incredible job by the scout that signed him Paul Faulk.

A message from Duane Kuiper 🧡

ALT STATEMENT FROM GIANTS' BROADCASTER DUANE KUIPER: "I was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and began treatment last week with my doctors at Stanford Medicine. This cancer is unrelated to the one I experienced five years ago, and I'm optimistic that it will be successfully treated. I'll miss the broadcasts tomorrow and Wednesday as I continue treatment, but I'm looking forward to returning Tuesday and this weekend to celebrate my partner, Mike Krukow, and his remarkable career as he calls his final game before retirement. I'm incredibly grateful for the care I'm receiving and for the tremendous support from my family, the Giants organization, my broadcast partners and so many others."

Back to back bunts to get a run across is sicko shit and I absolutely love it
Cox and Koss are weapons in those spots, they probably both have jobs here next year
It’s truly shocking how hard this lineup is making Skubal work tonight

Great summer for our c/o ‘28 CF/SS Stadtler Postma.
Played up with the @ZootsBaseball 18u and stood out. Big things ahead for Stadt!

I want everyone to take a deep breath right now on this @cifsjs realignment. This cannot pass in it's current form. Keep the criticisms coming because they are warranted, but if this passes......Heaven help all of us that have dedicated years upon years for High School sports

Berries coach Joe Carnahan wins his 4th ring as a @wcbleague coach.
Lost his number 1 starter and closer first week of July. Found a way. No better coach and recruiter in Canadian summer ball.
The @StoonBerries are your 2026 WCBL Champions 🏆 following an 11-1 victory in Game 2 and a series sweep over the @SylvanLakegulls.
Official attendance at the game was 2,579.
Congratulations Saskatoon ... go paint the town purple!

Great story from Saskatoon last night. Berries coach Joe Carnahan’s former batboy in Swift, Aiden Kilshaw, was the difference maker with a 3-run 💣.

A member of @swiftcurrent57s broke two records today. Jake Hiromoto now the single season record holder for home runs and RBI.
Congrats Jake and the Hiromoto family! 👑
Congratulations to @JakeHiromoto of the @swiftcurrent57s who is the new single-season Home Run and RBI record holder in the WCBL!
Hammerin' 🔨 Hiromoto bashed his 21st homer and his 67th RBI against the @mjmillers. He then added a 68th RBI to extend that record total.

Ripon Christian's '28 Stadtler Postma got another one today. This thing was destroyed. SS didn't even move. Big things ahead – at Oakdale, CA
A little insight on Jackson Flora. This is right about when things turn the corner at an MLK tournament in Arizona. He entered high school at 5‘4“, 100 pounds. You don’t know where you’re gonna end up. Just keep working hard and loving the game. @NorCalBaseball

Outrageous rule change. Just flat out stupid!
In my mind there is a need for both. Having done both, my observation is that winning baseball games and understanding that process happens in HS, Summer/Fall ball fills in the gap for skill development. 30 years ago when this symbiotic relationship started that was the premise – at Oakdale, CA
