Sit down and think ...

Vipane is helping me discover a new way to think about my desktop workspace :-) Instead of a rigid, predefined layout, it's malleable - apps can work together elegantly around the way I work. 🧷 Pin · 🗂️ Dock · 🎈 Float · 🛰️ Satellite Maybe this is part of the new software era: the shape of an app is no longer entirely in the developer’s hands - it's in the user's. Compare two AI answers side by side. Use app features like browser tabs, with familiar keyboard shortcuts. The possibilities feel unlimited. Software should adapt to your train of thought - not make your thoughts adapt to its layout :-)

TRUE LIQUID GLASS FOR FLUTTER IS RIGHT HERE! 😻
Over a year ago, I published one of the first true Liquid Glass packages for #Flutter. it had some memory problems, and the look was also not close enough to the real thing. Today I'm shipping the first prerelease of 1.0.0 and what will hopefully make it into cupertino_ui 🧵

Measure a UI framework with an actually competent mindset 😉 No misleading claims, no cherry-picking, and no rigging benchmarks just to "win" every aspect of app performance. You can say DartNative has very little memory overhead, while still matching or even beating native performance. And with a single codebase. RN can’t compete with DN. DN absolutely mogged them 🫪
🚨Benchmarks: DartNative vs Native vs React Native. 2 apps (chat and cards), one derived by the RN/Legend example to put the weakest contender in its best condition. github.com/DartNative/dartna… DN is on par with native (Swift/Kotlin) and even beat native on several measures.🧵👇

Latest build_runner 2.17 with a huge pile of bug fixes and something that I hope is very interesting for builder maintainers--a new way to output part files--experimental for now, please send feedback :) pub.dev/packages/build_runne… `package:build` got a major version bump to 5 so it won't be immediately available everywhere; almost all packages should be able to just update pubspec.yaml and release, so hopefully it won't take too long :) ... deps override `package:build` to 5 should work to try it.

I fixed something stupid I did in zentoast 0.2.2, and reduced rebuilds from 10k down to just 180. I also added a new motion API so you can customize the feel of your toasts, and removed the flutter/material dependency to make it truly headless! Zentoast 1.0 is available now! Headless, interruptible toasts for any Flutter UI. Try it out!

Flutter on Apple Watch is now open to everyone. Standalone or companion watchOS apps, pure Flutter widgets. Create. Run. Ship. flutterwatch.dev #Flutter #watchOS

Flutter everywhere all at once!
Why rebuild your Flutter app's design in SwiftUI just to put it on a watch? With flutter-watchos the watch app is Flutter too. One codebase, and live state sync over WatchConnectivity. Apple Watch was the last place Flutter couldn't go. #Flutter #watchOS #CrossPlatform

Flutter is a 3D engine now. 99 seconds from my Flutter & Friends talk. Everything in the cut is rendered by Flutter on the stable channel, on Impeller and Flutter GPU. No platform views, no native textures piped in from another engine, no custom fork. The engine is Flutter Scene, a complete 3D game engine for Flutter. Complete means graphics, physics, audio, networking, an editor, and tools for AI coding agents, in one open source project. It runs on macOS, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, web, and custom embedders. It scales down to a single model in a widget and up to full games, and dozens of contributors have landed work in it this year. A scene is a widget. Put it in a Column, stack UI over it, or draw it transparent over the UI so physics objects cast shadows on your buttons. And hot reload works on the scene itself. Change a light or a material in Dart and it updates in place. The full talk covers materials, lighting, the editor, and agent skills. Link in the reply. :)

zenrouter_dartnative is here! 🚨💙 Bring the power of Zen Router to native Dart apps, allowing you to share the exact same navigation mindset across your projects. Here is what's packed inside 🧵👇

🛠️ DevTools Built-In Visualize your entire navigation tree effortlessly with an out-of-the-box DevTool sheet. Debugging navigation state has never been smoother.

🗂️ File-Based Routing Powered by the same zenrouter_file_generator you already know from Flutter. Simply add an annotation to declare your page, and you’re good to go If your Flutter app already uses file-based routing with ZenRouter, migrating navigation code with Dart Native is virtually seamless.

Not only is zenrouter_dartnative coming to dartnative :-) I want to bring the whole zenrouter ecosystem (DevTools, file-based routing, Route Modules, etc.) to dartnative. What if we had done routing the right way from day one? :-)
🚨 Zenrouter is coming to DartNative! 🔥🎉 We consider zenrouter the go_router of DartNative. So let's follow Zen's updates. 👀
