Child prodigies and exceptionally early achievers, seem able to curtail this prodigious expenditure of mental energy; Mozart, Newton, or Einstein, by combining outstandingly high IQ, special abilities, motivation and creativity may get by with less and achieve outstanding success at an abnormally young age.

The deviation of gifted children from the generality is in the upward direction for nearly all traits. there is no law of compensation whereby the intellectual superiority of the gifted is offset by inferiorities along non-intellectual lines.
