Will the new data that terrestrial carbon uptake has unexpectedly stalled lead those climatologists who misleading claimed if #netzero was reached tomorrow that warming would soon stop, now revisit that claim? Probably not, as they were already ignoring how the models didn't include methane and that the modellers warned about assumptions on terrestrial carbon uptake. Lying to the world on an existential issue in order to be friendly to capital and elites has been one of the gravest crimes against humanity. And it ain't just oil execs who did that.

d) On ZECMIP MacDougall et al say: "that many models lack feedbacks related to nutrient limitation & permafrost carbon pools, [so] the strong dependence of ZEC50 on terrestrial carbon uptake is concerning for the robustness of ZEC50 estimates."

For some professionals in the field of social change, #collapse anticipation must be characterised as fatalist. They demonstrate willful blindness to both personal testimony and psychological research that illustrates the radicalising effect of collapse anticipation. Their stance might be to maintain their own identity, worldview and emotional stability. But by misinforming their audiences, they rob them of opportunities to process difficult emotions, find deeper resolve, and explore ways of contributing in a new era of societal disruption and breakdown. Just as bad, the silencing of this topic within civil society means the strategic planning for this new era is left to bankers, militaries and security agencies (who have been gaming scenarios of #societalcollapse for years). So there are consequences if we leave influential #moodsplaining unchallenged. Unfortunately, any public challenge can be awkward to do, as it involves pointing to psychological structures. Since 2019 psychologists have told me that it is impossible to do that in public. But if it could unfold in public, it would be so powerful for others, perhaps triggering a wider shift in dialogue. #deepadaptation @XRPsychologists @ClimatePsychol @deepadaptation

Initiatives like this really highlight how mainstream higher education institutions remain in denial. Climate breakdown will shape the lives of our students. It’s about time University curriculums started adapting to that reality. theguardian.com/environment/…

The implications of this article are terrifying. The sea lion deaths always concerned me more than the minks, and this piece explains exactly why.
I honestly haven't had this feeling since early January 2020.

Uncertainty, when accepted, sheds a bright light on the power of intention. That is what you can count on: not the outcome, but the motivation you bring, the vision you hold, the compass setting you choose to follow.

It's a shift from map to territory, from theory to reality. And the good news (pardon the expression) is that reality is full of love, redemption, and relationship, when you get right down to it. But getting right down to it is a challenge; it takes all your attention. 🌎❤️⭐️

Top-of-mind risks, for today:
– Long COVID kills many, long-term.
– H5N1 avian flu kills many, short-term.
– Russia goes nuclear over Crimea.
– Summer 2023 wet-bulb temps kill many.
– Breadbasket failures cause famine.
– Melting poles flood everything.
So, how does one deal?
